One of the reason I don't use the livery editor so much, is that my often incomplete custom liveries keep appearing on timetable mode. For me, it is a real immersion-killer, unless the livery in question is a recreation of an existing livery from the real world. So what i suggest, is that when you go to livery designer and you have the options of either editing, deleting, or copying your custom livery, next to them you would have an option, which would make it visible on AI trains. This option would be separate for each livery, and would be off by default. I think that this would be a great feature, as it gives the player more control of how they use their creations, and it would increase the immersion levels of those, who like to see more realistic timetable.
Sometimes, that's what I have done, but usually it takes a long time to make a custom livery, especially for something like the TGV, which is 2 locomotives and 8 cars long. If I start making a custom livery, I often don't complete it in one go. Also if you create a livery, that you for example only want to use in the scenario planner (for example I once did a GWR-version of the 395), and you don't want it to appear in timetable mode as it isn't there in real life, I think it would be great to have that option.
Something, like that. If you want, you would still be able to use it yourself in the timetable mode and in the scenario planner. You just wouldn't see any AI trains using that livery, you choose to hide. Also sorry, if my English isn't the best. I am not a native speaker.
I would love to see this. I usually play around only once or twice with my own liveries, and I don't like seeing them on AI traffic.
No. Just an option to choose whether AI trains spawn with your livery or not. For non german content every livery we create will be applied to AI trains and populate the route, this means that, every non-realistic livery is not possible to create unless you plan to delete it straight away and waste potentially 8/10 hours or more or have completely fictional trains running on the route. This would also mean that, if you are halfway done creating a livery and suddenly decided you want to continue it later, this option would prevent your incomplete and unrealistic livery from spawning on AI trains. This should be selectable by the player for every livery, even better if we could choose whether every trains spawns with that livery, random chance or never.
I believed there was already an option for that? But if not, then it would definitely be good to have an option to disable liveries from spawning in. What I would also like is to be able to give liveries options, like livery for a specific running number only (like the Trainbow from Southeastern), or allow a livery to only spawn with the full consist in that livery (like for when people make the canadian GO Transit livery for the Baby Bullet) and so on.
The inability to select which liveries appear in timetable mode is the one thing that puts me off using livery designer. I would certainly like to create fictional liveries on a number of trains, but not if timetable mode becomes a strange mixture of real liveries and my own.
