When I was doing “The Setup” scenario in the SD40, there was an instance where i coupled to some hoppers and then I got a warning in the cab saying “PCS open”. I had no idea how to fix the issue until I found a video on YouTube. PCS should have been covered at some point within the tutorial. To resolve the issue, you need to reset the cutout valve to “cut in”, and then put it back to freight to eliminate the warning. Even if it wasn’t covered in the tutorial, they could have at least covered it within the scenario.

A gamey solution, which is not possible in real life. The correct method is to set everything to 0 (auto brake in emergency, loco brake full app, throttle to idle, reverser in neutral) and wait 60 seconds for the pressure to equalize and the airflow to drop below the PCS threshhold.

Yes, this is the correct way to do it. As far as I know, in real life cutting out the brakes and then cutting them back in does not solve this issue.
