Do real-life trains suffer from brake fade? Do they also have "glowing" like Formula One for example?

If so, is this simulated in TSW2? I just had a fantastic experience in Sand Patch Grade, and during the huge final slope, I kept thinking about it.

By the way, what a route!!! Amazing!

Oh, yes they fade. In certain extreme cases, they can melt!

Unfortunately, this is NOT modeled in TSW (yet). What this means is that players are free to ride the air brakes all the way down the mountain, a practice which would get them killed IRL....

It sure would kill! Going down the Sand Patch Grande mountain, despair hit me... It would be quite challenging if the fading was simulated.

I keep imagining the challenge of going down a mountain like this in real life, it shouldn't be a pleasant feeling...

    But that's it, thanks!

While the brakes don't glow on railcars, they can defiantly smoke when they get too hot....

Thanks for the video, it helped me to clarify my ideas. Maintenance of these brakes shouldn't be cheap...
