Did they update it to where you can paint number boards for sand patch grade engines?

So, has anyone been able to get any CRR rollingstock to spawn in scenarios or timetables yet? I have a L&N boxcar I painted up, but its not spawning in for the Manifest freights (But I have seen my F7 and a project SD40 spawn in)

I hope it's not the same as with the Baby Bullet, where LD mid-cars simply don't spawn at all.

Nope. They're like the trucks and fuel tanks and headlight lenses: paint proof.

    Can you? Cool!

However, the number boards are graphic fields, filled on spawn from a randomized list of numbers appropriate to that loco (so the F7As will get numbers worn by real CRR F7As, etc). They can't be painted over- which is why all my SD and GP repaints have cab numbers that don't match the plates.

Now we only need to be able to set the frequency of loco appearance. If I make a specific number, it should only appear once on the route.

or make it so we can set a number range per loco (Ie my Hyperton AC44CWs should be numbered 1-10 and 300-573))

Raspberry Line is a Heritage line in parts of the US and Canada using engines and rolling stock from all eras and a multitude of countries to haul freight and passenger across it's scenic, 32 mile long route (not including the 2 branch lines). Those trains that are so old they cannot be found are made as replicas, with as much of the train the same as it was originally as possible. There are many challenges in running such a railroad. one is fitting each train with the gear required to run it on American tracks (horn, bell, couplers, ect), but also making it compatible with all the other engines and rolling stock being used. Another is the controls, which would differ greatly from era to era and also from country to country, but also making it so multiple unit headlighting and operating can function despite the control differences. one of the biggest challenges was making a Black 5 and a Alco PA work as a pair together, and the black 5 proved impossible to control from the PA despite Raspberry Line's best efforts. Later, however, they figured out how to do it but never used it as it was too complicated and possibly dangerous. The third, and probably biggest challenge, is maintenance. There are so many different engines and parts from so many eras, some steam engines have become impossible to repair, and Raspberry Line had to buy a steel mill to make their own parts because so many of them were unavailable. The mechanics have to be experts in engines from every country and be able to speak (or at least read) a multitude of languages. Fortunately they are getting very good at their job and are beginning to find tricks that make their impossible tasks less so. Because many of the engines are so old, they break down frequently. there's always a danger that something won't work or will break en-route. Many will remember the time where a Class 08, which was shunting some MK2s for a passenger train up one of the branch lines, forward frame and coupler tore off, the CL8 rolled over off the tracks, and the MK2s rolled down a 3.4% gradient, flew off a corner, and went flying down the mountain where it hit a coal train being pulled by two class 31s and the PA which had been modified to work with the Black 5. it was the worse crash in the railroad's history, and it led to a MAJOR investigation of the conditions of the thousands of trains on the route, and many were found to be unsafe and had to be fixed. the engineer of the 08 was lucky to be alive, but he had a major concussion and severe bruising from the roll his train took. if the tracks had been any closer to the edge the engineer would have been dead, as the engine would have fallen almost half a mile down into a rocky gorge. the crew of the other train wasn't so lucky, the impact of the MK2s threw much of the train off the mountain and derailed nearly every car. Coal flew through the air and was ignited by sparks caused by the cars hitting each other. in a short time there was a forest fire. the second class31's coupler broke off when the coaches hit the train, causing the lead one to derail and roll down the mountain only to get stuck in a clump of trees. the fuel tank broke off and rolled on without it, hitting some rocks and causing a TERIFFIC explosion. The engineer, kerbert berfery, was thrown into the unusually thick windshield, and was practically ripped apart by the chair and control desk. the window shattered when he hit it and several large peices became imbedded in his skin. he didn't survive. the other member of the crew, Mack Jonsle had heard a strange noise coming from the engine room, and went to check on it only to feel a massive impact. he fell on the emergency shutdown lever, then quickly stood up and held on to the nearest thing to him for dear life. he suffered some burns from what he held onto and some severe bruising from his roll down the hill. the caboose crew bailed out before anything bad happened, but the caboose itself was said to have flown 60 feet into the air before crashing down in front of the astonished crew. the wreck cost the railroad billions of dollars and their reputation. a couple of deals with a few other railroads got them back on their feet, but it would take years and years for them to get the trust of the people back. in 2013 they came up with a plan, which involved obtaining second generation and modern freight locos to serve as back-up power and rescue engines. they obtained or built 24 SD40s, 10 SD40-2s, a couple class 43s, and two F7As and a B unit. the latter would serve as a rescue engine, along with one of the SD40s and 2 of the SD40-2s. the rest were painted into the raspberry or blackberry schemes and put to work doing whatever needed to be done. in recent years 2 SC44 Chargers with special rescue gear and wagons have been ordered, and are currently undergoing testing at raspberry junction. one of the branch lines has been entirely electrified for ancient electric locos to see the sun again. the railroad may be the most difficult to run, but it is the only place where you can see a class 08 shunting a cut of cars, or a V200 pulling a sleeper car train up a steep grade, or mainline freight hauled by GP9s. For those who love railroad history, it is home.
anyway, here is an SD40 in the standard raspberry paint. I'm doing the rescue engines tomorrow.

(perhaps I shouldn't have made the logo so hard to replicate, I have no idea how I'm going to get on EVERY SINGLE HERIGITGE TRAIN DTG releases- oh I should add that RL does not always keep the engines in their original paint but paints them using their own schemes instead)

Just started on this for the CRR...... The fancy lettering is taking it's time and I've not managed to do a perfect match on some letters but I've nearly finished the handmade word ready to copy it onto the other side and front.

Shame the number glasses/plates cannot be made yellow as per the prototypes but I guess they'll have to stay black. 2021-04-12.jpg

Ok I think it's pretty much finished.......

For what is essentially a very simple livery this is actual at 297 layers with only four of those being weathering!!!! I couldn't make a great job of the lettering as I obviously ran out of layers but they are a close approximation of what they should be. Like I said in the previous post it's a shame the number panels couldn't be coloured yellow (Can they be coloured on the SD40? Or is it just numbers you can put in them on the SD40?).

Raspberry line outfitted one SD40 and one SD40-2 as well as their F7 with controls and special additions for rescue operations along their route. Inside the cab there are controls for controlling the line's rescue 200 ton crane, rotary snowplows, front and rear mounted winches, Rotating searchlight (sd40-2 only) and powerful floodlights, and other equipment. This particular SD40-2, number 114, had all of the gear in it's long hood removed and rebuilt around a large storage room which holds everything from equipment for the fire engine tank wagon to chainsaws, medical equipment like stretchers and well pretty much anything. often seen with one of the medical wagons, the fire wagon, the crane, and a few flatcars, this is the route's go-to engine for emergencies. it is also equipped with radio control and has been controlled on occasion from helicopters. it's too bad there isn't a way to edit engine models or I would totally add all the stuff but for now it'll just be the basic SD40

Technically Hyperton never had any F7s. by the time their company was big enough to need them they were outdated. however, in the 1990s Hyperton bought a large amount of F7s mainly from Mountainous Terrain but also from a few other railroads. Of course by this time these locomotives were VERY outdated but they were going for cheap and Hyperton had a little deal with EMD rebuilding some of their SD70s and GP38s, so they stuck 40F7As and 32 Bs on the end of the deal as it was cheaper than buying more new engines, which might not even be worth it. the F7s got 2,300hp motors, updated controls, better air brakes, and a total redo of the cab's interior. basically they kept the F7 body but replaced almost everything else. they labeled their creation as the F8-2. in 2010 Hyperton was going through the storage of the various railroads that had become a part of it and found MORE F7s. 30 to be exact. ( 19 as and 11 Bs). at this time most of the F8-2s were still performing well but were constantly knocked off of services by newer and more reliable engines. plus, despite the cab redo the F8s just weren't comfortable to drive. so in 2011 all F8s were removed from service. but not indefinitely. They got ANOTHER rebuild, installing newer engines, more modern equipment, once again better brake systems, computerized controls, in-cab signaling, and had some of their drivers design a more comfortable cab. the first of the new F8-3s rolled out of the shops in march of 2013, and since then have been performing wonderfully. of course, they are starting to get a bit old after almost 80 years of service, but until the wheels fall off they will still be an important addition to the Hyperton line-up. 20210412183510_1.jpg 20210412183515_1.jpg 20210412183521_1.jpg

I'd love to know how you did the 2 tone around the front window....I'm trying to do something similar for the one I am working on but I am struggling to get the white around the windows as you did on yours. I think it is more my noob skills with this editor more than anything else

    Any tips ?

I used a 1/4 circle to get the desired effect effect, placing it from the top side, and using Projection settings to prevent it from bleeding on the rest of the nose.

Thanks for the tips....I mucked around with my design using your suggestion and definately made an improvement. My livery so far...not bad for a first effort with this designer :)

Made a few modifications to the 421 class (The candy stripes were a little off) and made a 42 class with orange L7 logo...also made a matching B unit in candy livery

Quite pleased with the results...but I will probably do some more touching up before I call it.

I wish the livery designer allowed you to save layers and use them for other locos...it was a real pain trying to get the L7 logo right. I cannot be botehred doing it all again just for the B unit :( I still think the L7 is just a 'little' off...it needs a bit more tinkering

A Ferromex AC4400CW I'm working on. Pretty happy with it so far, need to add markings on the front, clean up the handrails, and add text

Here's the finished livery. I have to say I'm very proud of this one since its only my second livery.
