I had a go at the Limited Power scenario and as soon as I started to load the hoppers on a steep gradient, might I add? Managed to derail the second lot of hoppers all loaded with coal and failed the scenario. It is like you’re having a game of tug of war with the mountains!

Yes I had lots of fun with limited power!! I found the only way to get down the hill wit the loads without losing control was to tie on the handbreaks on the first few cars. With that, the dynamics could control it from there.

What dynamic brakes? How do you activate them in the F7? All I can see is the transition changing....

Switch the transition lever to Braking and you can then use dynamic brakes, once the amps start up.

One of the best experiences I’ve had in a scenario on TSW!

Such a struggle getting up the 3.4% gradient going into Blue Diamond! My train could barely keep over 10mph!

I totally agree. It was the most fun I’ve had in a TSW scenario by far!

Things escalate quickly if you are not on your toes. Thank goodness for dynamic brakes

Running the descent with Dynamics set to notch 8 and still having to use the Automatic to regulate was a great challenge!

I really enjoyed this scenario as well, I thought the switching moves and loading at the top on the steep grade were very challenging.

Just finished it now, and agree it was fantastic!!

Clinchfield is quickly solidifying its place as my favorite TSW route.

Question (slight spoiler for this scenario):

After you change ends to come back down the mountain, it has you do the startup procedure for the (previously) trailing loco, but wasn't it already running in the MU setup? Just curious if this is standard procedure that i might need to use in timetable mode?

I thought that was strange too as both units had their engines running already. Maybe there is some game related reason.

Its to assist players as they go down the grade by having a constant brake force applied in the second cab.
