Is there any DTG DLC that can only be bought in certain locations? For example, the Sheerness Branch cannot be bought in the Train Simulator Store menu.
How do you mean "the Sheerness Branch cannot be bought in the Train Simulator Store menu." https://store.steampowered.com/app/222603/Train_Simulator_Sheerness_Branch_Extension_Route_AddOn/ https://store.dovetailgames.com/uk/product/260485/sheerness-branch-extension-route-add-on
I bought it from the DTG store in one of their sales... and when you do you receive a Steam code anyway, so it's just available on Steam like all DTG routes.
I used to use it religiously, but I think I switched to using Steam either because of it being easier to use, faster, less glitchy, or because it didn't show what DLC I already owned or what was on my wishlist.
If I purchase anything I use the Steam Client which does show what I own and what is on my Wishlist The shaded out items and the Blue Square are showing In Library
I'm not sure when you buy something it gets removed from your wishlist, so always worth checking before you buy twice!
Welsh Marches might be a good route but again not really interested in it I have the Swansea - Bristol but I have only driven it twice - just does not grab me If the system thinks it is in your library it won't let you purchase it again
I think I wrote it slightly wrong. I meant that the Train Sim Store menu didn't show what I already own and what's on my wishlist.
The in-game store supposedly checks if you have the route before offering the extension. You are always told to only buy your liveries in-game through that store as it will verify your content. Thing is, we typically know if we have the original content and can use the livery. We're not kindergarten students.
The DTG store doesn't allow you to obtain a refund if you don't like what you have bought, unlike Steam, which is very good at refunds, apparently, however, they don't like you refunding too many items, you get blacklisted, so I believe if you overdo it, which is another reason why DTG should ensure that everything they release is perfect and customers shouldn't need to refund DLC!!!! Cheerz. Steve.
This is true and you agree to these terms when you finalise your purchase... Also the Store FAQ's state.. https://dovetailgames.kayako.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/240/30/dovetail-store-faq and it's also in the General FAQ's.. https://dovetailgames.kayako.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/212/15/dovetail-games-refund-policy Always, always, double check BEFORE you activate the key on Steam (in case of duplication) and if you're not sure whether you're going to keep an item (I mean you should really check out launch trailers and reviews first if possible anyway) then just buy it from Steam directly.
It is easy to buy something by mistake on the DTG platform I prefer to purchase thru Steam as it stops me from buying duplications of what I already own
Yeah, I did this by accident. Bought something on the DTL store, got the activation code and then realised I already had the item as it was bundled in with something I got with the game. Luckily it was only a couple of ££ so I'm not really fussed about it.
Isn't there usually something like "this does not affect your statutory rights" included in T&Cs, i.e. rights under the Sale of Goods Act, which overrides aby T&Cs you sign? No idea how well this applies to the digital merchandise arena though.
