Just discovered this youtube chanel and found it really interesting. Enjoyed the Sheffield to Manchester via Hope Valley and thought it would make an excellent route for TSW2 as it as both freight and passenger and is about 35 miles long

I agree that this would be a good addition to TSW2. If it is of interest, Just Trains are developing this route in TS2021 as an extension to their excellent Midland Mainline route.

I have been watching his cab ride videos for several months now. He just announced on his Facebook page that he has an agreement to do the Manchester Metro lines, so these will get posted and he is also now able to get the TfW videos back up.

His videos are great and informative.
He's explained signalling and diversions as well as driver knowledge.

Don manages to get some amazing footage but it was so better before he had to pull 90% of his library.

I have just been watching the Chester to Birmingham run, one of those re-uploaded I believe. Very nice and at least part of it would do well for a TSW route (I want to thrash a 158!).

At least he is now able to re upload the TfW videos he has done and, I believe, do new ones on that operator. I am looking forward to the Manchester Metro ones he will be doing now.

He didn’t go into great detail as it was between him and the TOC concerned but it appears people maybe have been using the videos as “route learning” videos, hence the disclaimer before each video he now uploads.

There were some great videos he had too. Maybe one day he’ll be able to re upload them but for now I guess the TOC would rather play it safe and not get into a potential legal matter.

Essentially yeah; some TOCs now contract a specific company to host their actual route learning videos - I imagine there would have to be clear distinctions about what can and can’t be used as revision material and it’s the TOCs permission to take away unfortunately.

Shame, the content is great but can’t justify its use other than entertainment

Excellent is Don, his Hope valley lines one is great, want to see that in JT's MMl routes! (hush hush, they are working on it) Only gripe I have is I wish he'd use a 4k go pro camera instead of the 1080p one. fuzzy vid with a large screen.

Love his videos. Especially when he recorded a run from St Pancras to Derby via MML. Can’t seem to find that video anymore... I assume that the vid got deleted during the purge of most of his vids.

Yeah it did, that was one of my favourite videos of his. He also had a EMR Class 222 from Derby to Lincoln then back down to Loughborough via Nottingham where the 222 coupled up to another 222 at Notts.

He also had a cab video in a Class 43 that still had the Paxman Valenta engines I believe... and went from Leeds to Derby via MML. He also told us about the history of the region.
