I really would like to see more heritage railways like Severn Vally Railway Paignton And Dartmouth steam railway etc
All very exciting choices. We would need a few more classes of motive power to come with these routes to reflect the collections of the various lines, many of which classes we do not yet have.
I'd like to see the Severn Valley Railway HOWEVER I'd personally prefer to see it in TSW as it was under GWR or BR ownership. This would make for a 38 mile route that not only includes Bridgnorth and Kidderminster but it would start from it's original point at Shrewsbury, passing through Ironbridge on it's way to Bridgnorth. https://www.svrwiki.com/The_Severn_Valley_Railway_under_GWR/BR_ownership
I would personally prefer the gcr heritage railway, once reunification is complete between the two sides because it is the only mainline, double track hertitage railway and the fastest one too!
Great Central Railway. It's a preserved heritage line in the UK, the only standard gauge one that has double track running too.
Yes please with the Tenbury branch too. I have walked parts of the old track bed through the Wyre forest. However the chances of seeing that are so remote I would say sadly. If it was announced I suspect many on here would be wondering why they got the nearly 40 mile line with a Prairie etc set in the "old days" rather than the 16 mile preserved route so they can potter along at 25 mph tender first in a large tender engine with a rake of carriages! I know which version I would prefer! I love heritage railways but on the sim, personally speaking they are pretty boring, only topped by routes like the Bakerloo line. Still each to their own.
Let me see the heritage railway where Top gear tested their Jaguar XK & Audi Train. Furthermore the section between Leicester North and Rothley is electrified at 600v DC. The reason for this it's the permit the use of vintage British Railways southern region third rail trains. One of those is a Classic Train Sim 21 train the 419 BEMU and 416 2EPB
Personally I would like to see East Lancashire. Never travelled on it but purchased various Locomaster profile DVD's filmed up there and of course it was a must have add on for MSTS. Long enough to provide a decent length run and nice scenery but with a bit of urban too. Another interesting line that often gets overlooked would be the Kent and East Sussex. Although the crème de la crème and the real crowd pleaser would be a combined Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railway. I would put my hand in my pocket for that, definitely.
I read somewhere sometime ago that the Kent and East Sussex was being worked on for TSC, but cannot remember who is doing it and cannot find it? Does anyone know anything about the KESR? I know this is a TSW thread but I hope someone will know who may be designing it. Now there is an editor coming to TSW4 someone may try it as it’s not too long a route with a few stations.
Ffestiniog in Wales is another good choice, especially for Spirit of Steam. This is a narrow gauge line with a cool history. For US heritage lines, I'd like to see the Durango and Silverton, Cumbres and Toltec, White Pass and Yukon, Grand Canyon RR, Aberdeen, Carolina, and Western, Nevada Northern RR (I've actually ridden the train on this line behind a steam loco.), and Strasburg RR. Also, the Cass Scenic RR with its Shays, Heislers, and Climaxes would be awesome. For Germany, the Harz Narrow Gauge line would be great to see; also, it has operational steam locos.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway will be lovely and having a full on Airbrake Railway, the last surviving Adams o2 and E1, 2 of the last 4 ivatt tanks, the famous terrier W11 former 40 Brighton and a terrier that was one of the last on Hayling island branch. The IWSR is a line in the untouched English countryside and its in the South for something different then up North
Speaking of Isle of Wight steam railway that one was on TSC with Island Line. Best value is Isle of Wight steam railway with Island Line Class 483 or 484 versions
I too would love to see KWVR in TSW too. I believe the Kent and East Sussex are in their 50th year of preservation, is it being developed for TSC?
I would prefer the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway which is ran by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society.
Here is a suggestion I have made for this herritage railway: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...gestion-the-boness-and-kinneil-railway.76763/
As I live not far from Kidderminster I would love to see the Severn Valley Railway in the game its a great route
I'm not sure how it would be the "fastest" as the light rail order that any heritage railway operates under has a maximum speed of 25mph, albeit the track can handle higher running speeds for mainline train testing (as can the mid Norfolk I believe). But certainly in terms of speed, it's passenger services would still be max 25mph the same as West Somerset etc.
Main reason I want this is cause it's nice and scenic with the firth of forth at Bo'ness and a few hills around the route as well as the notable Grangemouth Oil Terminal. Also, I volunteer there.
