Was running a SB service today and just felt really underpowered. Then I realized I never setup the helpers on the rear. How do you go about setting them up with an F7 as the lead locomotive? The only reference I had to go on was sand patch but the f7 is a lot older.I couldn’t find any radio controls in the cab.
This is the Great Mystery of Clinchfield. Nobody has figured it out yet, and (infamously) there's no manual.
Ah alright thank you for the info. Odd they didn’t have the manual ready to go with the release of the route.
My work around is to use the external camera. Go to the helper loco's and open the window then set up the control stand and then operate the throttle. seems to work.
That makes sense, I think most the helpers on the route were manned. Only know the moss turn was for sure because the crews would switch the mine together. Including the link to the article was interesting. https://appalachianrailroadmodeling.com/crr-operations-on-the-fremont-branch/
