The Baureihe E 40 is a German Standard electric locomotive commissioned by the Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1955, designed for freight trains. Since the 1968 renumbering, it is listed as Class 140 and Class 139. Relive the 1960’s with the DB BR 140 for Hamburg To Lübeck these trains run heavy freight all across Hamburg The DB BR 140 will have: 39 services running from Lübeck to Roffenburg Sör (no idea if that pronunciation is correct XD) these trains are a relic of the 1960’s and running on such a modern and up-to-date route and would be great to see something so classic into a route like Hamburg To Lübeck
Excellent Idea and keep in mind the DB BR140 fits Main Spessart Bahn since it was electrified from the years 1954-1957 and it's the perfect West German electric locomotive for the route. The reason for this is that the DB BR140 was built from 1954-1959 and will fit all the West German Routes including the former East Germany Rapid Transit post-1990 German reunification. Here's the thing with Hamburg Lubeck electrification was completed on December 13th, 2008 20 years and 15 days after the December 28th, 1987 Hicksville to Ronkonkoma 750v dc Third Rail Top Contact electrification project was completed. Therefore the route needs to be set in 2009-2013 for the DB BR140 to work
