Who’s responsible for sticking full moons in about every other scenario I’m on in TS: is that the AP Sky and Weather enhancement pack, or the default? It looked good at first, but it’s a bit too much now It would be nice to see some other phases of the moon too (crescent, quarter, gibbous).
Not sure I’ve seen stars yet, but I haven’t been ‘out at night’ with clear skies. I do hope the constellations are astronomically accurate?
With the AP Sky & Weather pack, the moon phase is date dependent, and will display any one of nine moon phases.. whichever is accurate for the date. The moon is also a realistic size, and doesn't have the silly halo around it. There's also earth shine on the shadow side.
Will add moon gazing on my journeys, too! Nice as it was, the crescent you posted earlier was too big.
No it's the correct size. It's because the shot uses a long lens. Zoomed out to a more normal focal length, it's actually the right size... It's how you get shots like this.... They aren't fake... they are just taken with a really long lens from a long way away. Because the moon is quarter of a million miles away, it remains the same size no matter where you are, but the buildings get smaller as you move away from them... so go far enough away to render the buildings small compared to the moon... then zoom back in with a long lens... et voilá!... big moon shot.
It's on the Steam Workshop. [pjt] Morecambe Bay (Furness Line). It's only complete to about halfway to Barrow. OTS are in the process of making the entire Cumbrian Coast line though... from Lancaster to Carlisle and they're about to release the first part any time now. It will be released in parts as and when it is complete.
Funny- I thought of that too. However... As a rabid SF fan, borderline obsessive-compulsive and pedant I feel obliged to point out that this line first appears in 2010: Odyssey Two mentioned as the last message received from Dave Bowman. IIRC it is the first line in the film version 2010 (aka 2010: The Year We Make Contact) actually spoken by Keir Dullea (Bowman).
Then you need to re-install it as that screen shot of MML doesn't seem to be using it. Sometimes, when installing a new route, you just need to quickly re-install the AP weather pack.... or in worst case scenarios, manually enable it (see manual).
Be careful with the AP weather pack. If you install it you will render any screenshots invalid for the DTG screenshot competition. I know that Inversnecky likes to enter that from time to time.
A little fussy to invalidate a screenshot based on the sky. After all, we look at the train. And the place the shot is taken from. Not the moon or clouds. LOL
It enhances the game beyond what DTG intended for it, and is therefore no longer an accurate representation of what customers can expect. Having said that, all DTG's "screenshots" for their promotional material, including the recent WCML South splash screen, and the current Birmingham Cross City splash screen are retouched, so they're not an accurate representation of what the customer can expect either., They make the rules (shrug).
I'd be wary of assuming that. AP's snow was definitely being applied in my Bernina Pass and from the looks of it you've got AP's rain in your screenshots.
