I'm wondering whether to buy the metropolitan line, but does the route come with the train (s7 or s8) itself?

    Steam Version: https://store.steampowered.com/app/...Line_Aldgate__Uxbridge__Amersham_Route_AddOn/
Train Simulator: Metropolitan Line: Aldgate - Uxbridge & Amersham Route Add-On or
Buy Metropolitan Line + London Underground S7 + 1 EMU (or S7+1 separately).
Please Note: London Underground S8 EMU Add-On is required, as a separate purchase, in order to play the scenarios featured in this add-on.

    JT Version https://www.justtrains.net/product/metropolitan-line
    Metropolitan Line need to purchase
    London Underground S7 + 1 EMU and
    London Underground S8 EMU Add-On
Can be purchased as a bundle

I always buy the JT versions - they sometimes have more features/scenarios and support is pretty good.

I think the OP is asking if he should buy the version in the sale which is this one
    https://www.justtrains.net/product/metropolitan-line

    I would say No.
The route is reduced from £29.99 to £20.99 but you don't get a train
The S7+1 would be an extra £21.99 bringing the total to £41.98 compared with £39.99 for the route plus the S7+1
    https://www.justtrains.net/product/...s7-plus-one-advanced-underground-stock-bundle

I would wait until it is available in a Sale if you want it.
And read up/watch videos about it as it takes some time to get used to

    Peter

    Ughh.. Here we go again..

For the record I agree with you, why Haven't Just Trains, Armstrong Powerhouse, Bossman Gaming & the plethora of other (very small) developers employed the Chinese/Indian sweatshop child labour intensive mass production bulk buying business models of the modern world?
Screw you small developers for having to put thousands of hours into research, asset making, sound recording, scripting, testing, tweaking and releasing your product, get a real job so you can release your stuff for free goddamit!

i meann it is a big rip off because you have to pay for the route which is £29.99 than you have to pay another £21.99 for the train so in total thats £51.98. I wish DTG would lower their prices as some of the add-ons are very very expensive

The Met Line and stock is a niche within a niche so it will cost a fair amount (£39.99 for the bundle).

I'd say that if you are on a budget and you really want an LU route to drive with a train included, then the other viable option is to wait for TSW2 in the sales which at sale prices gives you the Bakerloo with 1972 stock included for £12.49 or something.

If you are on a budget and want a LU line to drive forget TSW2 - unless you want to be restricted in what you drive
There is also the Virtual District Line on Backdated Trainsim

Indeed, I had forgotten about the VDL, as I do tend to use my copy of the Met Line when I feel like a change of pace. Although in fairness the LU is restrictive anyway within the realms of realistic operations, hence why I mentioned TSW2 (in a sale, for 12 quid) as a complete LU line with a train included.

Nothing stopping any of us from powering through the Met tunnels in an AP 37 but for me personally that is going beyond suspending my disbelief :D

For LU there's also this, quirky but enjoyable standalone game, the graphics are very good especially considering the age of it now, nothing to do with TS and obviously not expandable but I get my LU fix with it, (probably find it a lot cheaper than what JT are selling it for I just linked them for convenience)

    Edit:
Forget the JT link above, I think the promo video was shot on a Texas calculator by the looks of it, look at this Steam link instead. (It's much cheaper on Steam too)

    Edit 2:
Just found it even cheaper on Amazon >> Link

I have that one as well. I always forget the controls on it at first but it's visually decent and gives good frame rates on any halfway decent PC.

Works natively (no additional software needed) with the RailDriver too if you have one.

They have changed it as the original version did not require the Met line.
I think it is just required for station markers

The Met, Cornish, Severn Valley and Midland Mainline are my favourite routes and would love them to be transformed for TSW2

There is a difference (lost on you apparently) between expecting something for free and feeling something is overpriced.

Hi everyone, I installed the "AP Track Patch and Replacement Signal Lens Textures for Just Trains (V15.01)" to have the AP Tracks on the Metropolitin Line, Steam version. Unfortunately it did not work. Do I have to pay attention to anything during the installation?
    Regards Jogi.

    j.k
You may want to contact Richard Armstrong at AP and see if his track enhancement pack supports the JT Metropolitan Line?
    This is from the manual:

Hallo Reef , thank you for the tip.Unfortunately, the whole thing only works with the normal tracks, but that's what Allan wrote. A player from the Rail-Sim forum in Germany has managed it with the DB tracks..... Unfortunately I don't know how he did it, see screen.
    Regards Jogi.

You could ask on the RailSim de forum
If you don't write in German just use English - they get irritated if people use Google and try to translate :)

Does anyone who has this Metropolitan Route know if it has any Quick Drive Scenarios?

I like to use those to learn the route before trying a proper scenarios

    QuickDrives are included.
And if needed: in the thread of rail-sim forum, post no.15 you can find a little help for the approach signals
    or watch this video:
