Hi Folks, I've just completed the Berta loading (Timetable version) on the second attempt. It is an interesting task. My questions are: 1. Is it just the Berta loader that works? (I've tried a couple of other loaders when walking around, running a free engine - with all the faffing in setting up the brakes, but the cars do not load) 2. Are there any other timetable services that have you load cars (they all seem to be set out empties; pick up loaded) If Berta is the only one, it seems a bit of a limitation... Cheers John
I noticed this to, all other coal loaders seems to be dissabled. Also the unloader at Moss isn't active and not even marked on the map. So you can load coal with the follwoing scenarios/timetables: -Bertha coal loading -F7 Tutorial -Limited Power -Fremont Ascent?? -Timetable Greenbriar Branch?? (It seems not)
I've played Greenbriar Turn in its entirety, and if memory serves me well, there was no loading. Only set out/pick up.
They've said before release that there is almost no loading, the DLC focusses on mainline running. Perhaps coal loading could be expanded with a future loco DLC.
Loading coal and hauling it away is how the RR makes money, and they are not just going to have engineers running around taking coal away whenever they like! Coal loading would naturally be prearranged with the mine management.
The limited power scenario does allow you to load wagons at the Blue Diamond facility. it is a "fun" scenario. I've had parked wagons roll away down the slope and crash; resolved by putting the handbrakes on on every wagon and the caboose. It's a bit quicker than the tutorial or berta loading... I got the award in the end. However, I still feel that the other loaders should also be operable..
Took the words out of my mouth, OldVern! Indeed so, it's even in the challenge for April to load 50 trucks or whatever it is! That's what's so frustrating about it.
Most mines had their own switchers and switching crews that would load and unload the cars. Since this isn't a coal mine operator game, DTG decided to focus on the aspect of running trains on the main and branch lines.
