Love to drive a class 222 down the mainline or drive a class 158. I like the look of both of those trains and have ridden them too. With the 222s, you can get a max speed of 125mph out of those trains.

Is the Midland Main Line a good route suggestion? Yes, I like it.
    Preffered section? Sheffield-Leicester/Derby.
And finally is Lincoln Cathedral the best? Pretty close, but no.

:DI couldn't of said it better. But lets not forget the Crooked Spire(Chesterfield). It's not the biggest, it's not even a cathedral, but it's still incredible.

The crooked spire is great when you first see it.

Even if we couldn't get EMR or EMT licence, id' love to see this in the route.

Even with current covid restrictions, I'm sure DTG could get enough source material online and even then, there's people who live near the line who can go with a camera and assist. I'm literally 10 minutes from Sheffield Station.

Come on TrainSim-Matt DTG Protagonist DTG Natster let's make this happen.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. EMR is also adding a few Adelantes to their rolling stock

Just bringing up this thread again so that the DTG teams can have a good look and consider the joining of this thread and byeo 's

St Pancras to Leicester train station can work because the first portion up to Bedford station is operated by electric trains like the class 377 from ECW. Which means you can have a service that Operates St Pancras Bedford originating in Brighton via Gatwick airport railway station alongside class 700s.

I doubt that we will have 700s because of licences

That is good but TSW2 already has so many electric lines. I would've prefered good old deasil and that is better up north

Yeah but we want it up north, although the vote doesn't say that.

Heck! Just make the whole route from st Pancras to Leicester and beyond. I know it’s about 127 odd miles I think.... end to end. As long as we get to do movement in the East Midlands then I’ll be happy.

Wonderful idea to do this route, with extensions done at a later date.....Lincoln or even Peterborough as idea’s.

Linoln was on the list of extentions. I'd just like to see some northern mml action

Yes. Just. Yes. Having played London - Bedford on TS21 I would love to see the route in its full, or even just the section suggested.

Yeah. I would love to see the fully route. The suggested routes are ones I really know well. Plus- Sheffield is a good end-point as most trains terminate there

I've got to say this seems to me absolutely the best choice for a GB mainline route. The HST absolutely needs to be put to better use, and this line (specifically Leicester–Sheffield; I have very little interest in St. Pancras–Leicester) goes through what is for my money the most beautiful landscape in the world – you don't have to agree but you will surely agree it is very pretty. Plus as others have mentioned some really distinctive landmarks: Chesterfield spire, the Radcliffe-on-Soar power station and of course the Brush works at Loughborough station!!

One thing I'd offer in contrast to earlier suggestions is to suggest this as a historic route – I don't know details of things but like late 80's/early 90's? So we can have a proper Intercity livery and some other loco hauled passenger services. I'm not anywhere enough of a train nerd to know when exactly it should be set but I'd rather see this than a class 222, no offense.

Can be done if they managed to make two timetables. One for the modern services and another for classic services.

Yes. Perhaps what DTG did with GWR is to have an add-on for this route with the classic locos. Also this route would be great for steam.

I wonder if this route has Rush Hour potential, seeing that there’s always a crowd of passengers waiting to board at peak times. I reckon so, considering how often an Inter-city service comes every half an hour, maybe 20 minutes since, it’s a key route transporting passengers all across the region. I know for a fact, that Leicester station is always busy on the train platforms on both sides to London and Nottingham. Thrown in the night lighting and reflective signage from Dresden route and that would make a brilliant British route.

Awesome idea living on mml I’m definitely in support of this as a midlands route be awesome in a tsw2 format as is currently none existent however in light of 150/2 Cornwall issues I’d have reservations that it would sound anything like a sprinter as the 150/2 clearly doesn’t as it does on AP YouTube videos
