20.04 Heavy Update Patch Notes Please

How strange- everyone else is reporting ~250MB.

Is that what Steam is telling you, or from another meter?

 

I'm wondering if its a language issue - Do any of those with the bigger updates play in a language other than English? ( I play in English and I have one of the smaller downloads).

 

I got a 2.9 GB update, changed .pak-files are, HRR, LGV, CRR, ARL, SPG, and TS2-Prototype core

 

2.4 for me (Steam) but I don't have LGV ARL

 

OK, I know that breblimator and grob-e play in a language other than English: is this the dividing line?

Even more bizarre is that the "234.8 MB" download I allegedly received represented 26.4 GB of modified files.

 

My downloaded data size is 2.4 GB

 

so updated PAK files include -

Core - SPG - HRR - LGV - CRR - ARL - SEHS

So - apparently that 264.7MB is updating 57.09 GB of files...

Potentially some of their package size reduction work?

 

I am guessing now that the ~250 MB file is just an installer, which in turn governs the download of ~2 GB of compressed data, which in turn is unpacked and mods or replaces 30-60 GB worth of game files depending on DLC owned.

 

I hope they will solve the problem, because I have already marked the holiday tomorrow in my calendars (101).

 

Yep. 227MB. How do I check which files were changed? just go into the TSW2 folder and look at the date modified for the .pak files?

Actually, I must admit I remarked some "hick-ups" while downloading, like 300MB download, pausing 3 to 5 minutes, continuing downloading, pausing again, so forth and so on....

 

well for me it's been like this for at least 5 minutes.

 

That's what Steam says. I haven't lost that much free space on my SSD (~2GB).

OK so I can concur with above people that the core, sand patch and HRR *.pak files were updated.

 

The full update was available for me on PS4, and Hamburg-Lübeck as well as the BR101 have been added to the trophy list.
Interestingly, HBK appears on the list first, followed by the 101. This suggests to me that HBK was initially supposed to release first, and these plans were changed very late after today’s update had already been finished and submitted.
Another thing I noticed: Normally, when new routes/locos get added to the trophy list in the days/weeks before release, the achievement rarity always shows as 0.1%, which means a dev probably verified they’re actually obtainable. This is not the case with today’s trophy additions! They all have the rarity 0.0%, hopefully they’ll be obtainable without issue

 

It could be, rather, that a month or so ago HBL and Clinchfield were "neck and neck" in development as Sam put it, and that at least at one time it was anticipated that the release order would be HBL-101-CRR. Some route was going to be released in early April, and the 101 like all loco DLCs was going to follow it.

Well an 800MB update just landed for me.

oh boy. I am excited. I don't see it yet, so going to restart steam to see if it shows up.

Not a very exciting update unless you own TGV. But they did fix Clinchfield's wonky SD40 number plates. And the F7 tutorial brake issue

And hey, in steam there are actually the patch notes when you click the "view news" button, nice!

 

It’s not in the notes, so I assume that the new horn for the SD40 has not arrived and that the AI SD40 headlights are not fixed yet?

Can’t check it out myself for a while...

 

My update was 18GB on PS4 - yes that’s eighteen gigabytes. Incredibly large seeing as I don’t have CRR or LGV.

 

FWIW Steam is now downloading 4.1GB again (after doing the same yesterday). Whether it's the same update, I know not.
