Well I just started playing this, following the game's instructions carefully and to the letter. I'd set the automatic speed to 2mph as it tells you to do and set off. When you're nearing the hopper, it tells you you can watch from an external camera, so I did. Unfortunately all I achieved was watching the first 2 or 3 wagons passing under the hopper BUT no coal came out! Is this a bug because I've watched a couple of videos on YouTube and they didn't have a problem with it at all ... coal filled their wagons. I'm not doing anything differently so what gives, does anyone know please? Additional: I thought I'd be tricky and reverse until my train was clear of the hopper and then go forwards again. Unfortunately same thing happened ... 3 trucks passed under and not a single piece of coal got released! Starting to tear my hair out now!
I'm glad I'm not the only person with this bug. I've tried all the same things also with zero luck...
I was able to do this as a tutorial a few weeks ago, but when I needed to do it again as part of the journey the coal loader did not work. I suspect this broke during the most recent update, which also was the beginning of the community challenge to load coal. The next scenario, Powering America part 1, still works.
Thank you for your feedback, Wodeburgh. I'm doing the SPG scenarios in order and I've literally just finished trying it again but the same thing happened ... or rather didn't happen so yes a definite bug, which I'm just about to report.
It used to work just fine: haven't tried it since the latest patch. Tip: the instructions say 2 mph, but you won't get your hoppers 100% full at that speed. Hold it to 1.6 mph.
Thanks solicitr ... tried it again yesterday. Still not working. Reported it as a bug and was informed later it's a known issue for a future update, although they didn't say how long it's likely to be other than to keep an eye on their roadmap.
Yes indeed. Why does that not surprise me then. Just have to hope the 'fix' isn't going to be too long.
What, in SPG Wodeburgh? Oh great! I'll try it later. Think I've found a problem on the Bakerloo line though. I'll try that again later before I mention it on here and report it though.
