Epoch 5 painting of the long-distance trains DB from 1990 - 2010 of the InterCity and EuroCity At that time it was a normal picture in the main train stations
If anyone's interested, the Clinchfield set is now up at https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/...r-clinchfield-f7a-und-sd40-schwartz-und-grau/ [ I have also uploaded to Train Sim Community but it hasn't posted yet.] UPDATE: now available https://mods.trainsimcommunity.com/...c37-locomotives/i948-clinchfield-alt-liveries
Not being from North America I was wondering what sort of boxcar reskins I could have a go at that would fit in with the Clinchfield route? Period is 70s so what sort of liveries would have also been seen rolling along the CRR as well as the CRR boxcars?
The general answer is "Any!" Freight cars in North America tend to get mixed up and go all over the country, eventually wending back to their owning railroads. But if you are looking for the ones that would most likely be seen on Clinchfield in the 70s, it would fall into two categories 1) Related Railroads Family Lines, the new SCL Industries corporate livery which CRR itself was starting to use by the mid-70s, Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) Louisville & Nashville (L&N) It wouldn't be impossible to see boxcars still in the paint of SCL's merger parents, Seaboard Air Line (SAL) and Atlantic Coast Line (ACL), since they had only combiined in 1967. 2) Bridge traffic: cars from the railroads with which the Clinchfield interchanged Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) - at Elkhorn C&O's corporate family livery, Chessie System Norfolk & Western (N&W) - at Norton, Virginia Southern - at Spartanburg, South Carolina That isn't to say that you would never see a Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Conrail or Burlington Northern car, just that they would be less common.

MoW for LIRR....thought the 66 would be actually kind of fitting since the subway tunnels are super narrow loading gauge like the British trains and this would run on all NYCTA lines.

A couple that I'm currently working on for Clinchfield. An N&W Reefer and an N&W boxcar. And the picture i've based them both on..... Obviously a lot of the text has had to be omitted.
WaveyDavey, have you had any luck getting your cars to spawn in Clinchfield? I haven't seen a single one of mine yet.
I’ve not tried them in the route as yet as I’ve not been on Clinchfield for a couple of days. I’ve had the SD40 and F7s spawn in on journey runs (as player locos and AI) and timetable runs (as AI). Let’s hope they aren’t like the tanker cars in SPG.
In one thread Matt hinted to the livery substitution being closely tied to substitution as a whole... so if a loco or a car doesn't get substituted, no livery can spawn on it. So if the manifests on CRR and put together in a firm formation, nothing will appear, because nothing can replace the freight cars.
This is just me guessing, but SPG manifests pretty much randomly throw 40-50 cars together, therefore they are substitutions. CRR manifest seem to be more rigid, you have blocks of boxcars, block of reefers, so the consists are probably manually made. The same as for SPG cars goes for SPG locos there as many trains can swap between SDs, D8s and ACs, so also between liveries on them.
But you still get substitutions on the block consist coal trains, grain trains, autoracks and intermodals on SPG though.
I've reworked the SBB EuroCity Einheitswagen repaint to make it look realistic. You can download it here. What do you think about that?
Oh, I had forgotten I did this post (with pics): https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rolling-stock-liveries-for-clinchfield.38923/
However, there are no subs for the locos in Clinchfield, yet alt-liveries show up on them just fine. I could see a "handmade no-sub" thing applying to the Florida Perishable, but ordinary manifest trains would have cars from all sorts of railroads.
well I'm back to the old make a random rail company and hope it looks decent. next is either a reefer or a HTRX SD40 ( I know it looks like the F7A-B HTRX units but I was basing it off of something else which had the same color scheme)
I'm currently working on a CD-Repaint, but then i realized that the livery editor logo mod has no CD-Symbol trainsimcz any chance you can add the CD-logo? I'd love to share this livery but without branding it just isn't finished
I need svg file, ai file, eps file or pdf vector file. Need to be vector format not bitmap format saved like ai, svg, eps or pdf.
And if i might add a suggestion to that? The Flixtrain Logo, the Deutsche Bundesbahn, Captrain. Keep up the good work. Hope the links help. Cheers!
Not enough layers to capture all the detail but I think it’s a passable punt at the Arosa 100 locomotive. It would be nice if we could paint over the engine room window like on the real thing. Taken on a phone as I don’t know how to share PlayStation screenshots.

Since that last update yes. It’s probably one of the easiest locomotives to paint in the whole game as a lot of the roof and underframe is already done.
Was this a real livery? I can only find images of it in model form rather than real life images.......
