Unfortunately my GTX 1650 graphics card died this morning and I have to revert to my old GTX1050 2Gb which thankfully still worked after 11 months sat in a box in the garage. So while I wait to hear from the vendor if they will honour the warranty and RMA the item, I’ll be enjoying a rather reduced experience. Not helped either by the fact you can’t buy a new GPU for love nor money at present, due to some weird Bitcoin data mining cult buying them all up. If anyone still running a GTX1050 could share their settings, I would be much obliged.
I run TSW on an old gtx970 so you will live. The silicon shortage isn't going to improve until 2022 apparently, plus, there's a new currency coming out of China that uses hard drive storage space, rather than computational GPU power.. so expect SSD prices to rocket as of now!
I run a GTX 1070, which is in the same ballpark and a middle of the road I7 CPU. I have everything on ultra and do very nicely, so I don't think you will lose much. Especially so if you have a fast SSD and at least 16 GB of memory.
About to try it, keeping the same settings. Good news is the vendor has accepted the RMA so sending off in the morning. Who knows I might get a little upgrade in return - a 1660 or a Super.
I stuck with 1050 and I have no good news for you Screen Percentage 100% is max. Go to medium with shadows, effects & post-processing if you like to go more than ~20 fps average. I play ultra 1920x1080. LENOVO ideapad 330 Good luck...
Not too bad on my existing settings but it took around three or four minutes for the cab gauges to display legibly. I will probably wait for the replacement card to arrive before continuing with the game.
Plat Play Arosa, it has its graphics heavy "optimized" that it would run on a toaster. All settings medium except for Post processing at low (GPU load) Also set foliage to low if that does not help Screen percentage 100% with TAA Texture streaming on in case you disabled it in cfg. Try with -dx12 as it boosts FPS usually but also highlights stuttering. Good luck!
Hmm you might be hitting the video card memory limit and crashing. Try setting Textures to medium and see if it helps. I am sure you already did this, if not update the video card drivers with latest supported by you card. Dx12 does give better FPS for most people , i don't know if 1050 can also benefit but its worth trying .
Good news, after a fashion. The vendor has accepted the card is faulty (no output) and I'm on the list as waiting replacement. Hopefully I get something a little better than the 1650, but knowing my luck it will probably be a 3Dfx Voodoo card out a box in the back...
Doubt my PC/PSU could take it. Anyhow, point is there are no GPUs to be purchased for love nor money anywhere at the moment, due to this crypto currency mining malarkey. I expect those which are, will be retained on stock for RMA replacements or new build PCs.
Yes, looking on various websites, the price of a new PC with a high-end graphics card (30XX, even 20XX) is through the roof. My midrange machine, about 4-5 years old, with a 10XX card is priced higher today than when I bought it, even as a refurb. Go figure.
