I checked the manual the same as per Dunkrez post above. It is the Ap Sound pack that provides that function, well certainly my version does, and states so in the manual, it also works on my default. I have had issues in the past with the order of intalling re-skins sound packs etc. I have found through trial & error that the AP packs like to be installed prior to any other re-skins. Not sure if that is relevant to your problems but may be something to throw in the pot.
Ok... tonight I've splashed out 7 quid against my better judgement (I actually got impatient & couldn't wait for the next AP sale...)... Can anyone please put their hand up (or post a message here!!!) who has the following: DTG 303 pack AP 303 sound pack DP Simulation GMPTE 303 Blue / Grey DP Simulation GMPTE 303 Orange I'd like to ask a few question / make some comparisons... Cheers Eric
As P749 states AP publishes an update log regularly. Might be worth having a dedicated post as to when it is updated Looks like this:
Well sort of Dunc... thats part of the reason for my question... It's fine in the "vanilla" DTG version (is that correct???) but on Richard Fletcher's reskins only 1 note works (using the space bar)... The other issue is the blinds don't change on the reskinned versions but do work on the DTG versions...
I'll take a look this weekend and install fletchers packs too, there might be something we can do to correct that. I've got to finish the Railpunk business plan and financial forecast tomorrow, get it sent off and ratified or I'd jump on it sooner.
No worries mate... Any help you can offer is much appreciated... Just feel a bit disappointed as I've bought the AP 303pack with the intention of improving the 303 reskins & its all been [at the moment] for nothing...!!!
Me, along with the VP reskins... although my experience seems to be at odds with everyone else's with regard to destination blinds... but everything else works.
Pooky... My blinds don't seem to work on the reskins either so you're not alone... Dunkrez has offered a glimmer of hope if he gets chance over the weekend (no pressure lol...)...
Eric and pookey, can you both tell me the order you installed each item. I'll replicate that process and take a look to see what's not hooked up. It could be that the AP script isn't referenced with the reskin bin files, if so, there may be other elements that need adjusting too. Do the AP sounds work on all of the reskins? Thanks guys.
Dunc... off the top of my head the "base" 303 DTG pack was installed... I then applied the (RF72) 303 reskins from DP simulation, Blue /Grey first then the Orange one... had a few issues getting the orange one to work & after about 2 attempts of running the bat file for the orange one it eventually worked... All was fine albeit with the naff sounds till last night when I applied the AP 303 pack... The "stock" DTG 303 seems to work normally but both reskins don't... I can't change the blinds and now only have a single note when I press the space bar to sound the horn... There's a few other niggles but I don't know whether it would fall in DTG's or AP's lap or even if you can look at them with a view to sorting them out??? Thanks again Dunc... Eric
Right now I can't tell you Dunc... I've now got an issue whereby the reskins won't work... They won't release the brakes when the free roam starts & they won't take power (reverser in forward & pan is up)... I can't understand it as they [the reskins] were working perfectly well last night... It's a pain now as I have to go back to work till 1830hrs... Eric
I'm pretty certain it was DTG 303, then AP pack, then DP skin, then VP skin. While I can't GUARANTEE I did install the AP pack first, it's not like me to install a reskin without reading the blurb it comes with... then again, I missed the section in the manual where it says F7 works, so I'm obviously as prone to error as the next guy. When I get the time, I'm going to remove every trace of the 303 and start again... just been a bit bombed out this week. My 86 year old Dad isn't in great shape, so been spending a lot of time at his place. I'll let you know the outcome when I can.
Just as ntypeman goes off to work, I just come in. I have the DTG 303, AP soundpack and RFletcher72 reskins from VP I don't have the DP versions so not sure if that differs from the Fletcher VP one. Installed in order:- 1 - DTG 303 2 - AP sound pack 3- Reskins I have changing blinds and 2 tone horn on all of the 303 consists. (Strathclyde Orange, SPT Carmine, SPT Orange, Blue & Grey, Manchester Orange) I have lined 5 variations up in a free roam scenario to test them side by side and uploaded to you tube for you to have a look at, i.e. are they the same reskins you have from DP. Not sure if this helps with the issues you guys are having but this setup seems to work for me and I haven't had to tweak anything they all just worked straight out of the box. Maybe I was just lucky.
The sounds are identical on all three for me as well (DTG, DP and VP) with the AP pack installed. The only think that differs for me is that I can only change the destinations in game with the VP reskin. If anyone has any idea why that should be I'm all ears, as it will save me stripping them all out and starting again.
BTW, while we're on the subject of the Manchester 303 reskins, just to let anyone who wasn't aware, that there's a Woodhead post closure route on the workshop. It's not perfect, but it's got lifted lines and weeds at Guide Bridge and other places where you'd expect... and the line ends at Hadfield etc... If you wanted to drive the route post 1984 when it was converted to 25KV, this is pretty much your only option so far as I know.
For some reason my carmine & cream and SPT(?) versions are missing... I think the best bet is to remove everything 303 orientated & start over... What's the best way for me to do that please??? Eric
By the way has anyone noticed that the pan buttons don't work when they they are pressed and that line light is permanently on even when the pan is down???
Oh... and the marker lights don't work either... the only frontal illumination is the headlight... Eric
Go into Steam's DLC Manager, and untick it. Restart Steam, then close it again (probably completely unnecessary, but hey.. belt and braces)... Then manually go into your Railworks folder, and delete the 303 folder (assuming it wasn't already deleted by using the DLC manager), which is at .... C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class303Pack01 Unless you installed TS somewhere other than the default location, in which case, replace C:\Program Files with whatever location you chose. That should do it.
Cheers Pooky... just cooking tea at the mo so will have a look later... B***dy h**l... our tealight candles are brighter...!!!
Morning... It's the weekend. A bank holiday weekend which is a bonus & I'm raring to go... Last night I successfully uninstalled the 303 & everything that goes with it... I then reinstalled the DTG 303 DLC then applied the AP 303 Sound pack... that is as far as I got before my bed called me... Woke up this morning suddenly thinking about why I haven't got the Carmine & Cream or the SPT logo'd stock when all of a sudden it dawned on me to look at the AP blurb... There it was towards the end a section that said "Download extra stock"... That's what I'm about to do right now... The next crossroads I'm at is do I use my current DPS reskins or do I go for the reskins hosted on VP's site??? I know that they should be the same thing but this next step is the one I don't want to mess up... Eric
When installing files is it necessary to run as administrator??? What's the difference between running as administrator and just running normally??? Sorry to sound stupid...!!!
I've now installed the VP reskins and am pleased to say that everything seems to be working as it should... Sounds, the pan works off the buttons in the cab (although the line light is still permanently on regardless as to whether the pan is up or down!!!) and I can change the blinds on the GMPTE units also... One thing I noticed is that although the reskins are supposed(?) to be the same [as in by the same author] the blind list on the DP Simulation version is much more "richer" (or should that be expansive???) DP Simulation reskin blind list: a <white blank> b Alderley Edge c Alderley Edge via Stockport d Alderley Edge via Styal e Altrincham f Altrincham via Stockport g Altrincham via Styal h Birmingham Int. i Birmingham N. St. j Congleton k Coventry l Crewe m Crewe via Stockport n Crewe via Styal o Deansgate p Dinting q Football Ground r Glossop s Guide Bridge t Hadfield u Hazel Grove v Lancaster w Liverpool x Macclesfield y Manchester Oxford Road z Manchester Piccadilly A Northampton B Nuneaton C Oxford Road via Stockport D Oxford Road via Styal E Piccadilly via Stockport F Piccadilly via Styal G Preston H Rugby I Runcorn J Sandbach K Stafford L Stockport M Stoke-on-Trent N Walsall O Warrington P Wigan Q Wilmslow R Wilmslow via Stockport S Wilmslow via Styal T Wolverhampton U Charter V Not in Service W Relief Service X <black blank> Y <white blank> VP blind list: (White Blank) Alderley Edge Crewe Glossop Hadfield Hazel Grove Liverpool Macclesfield Manchester Oxford Road Manchester Piccadilly Rugby Stafford Stoke-on-Trent Wilmslow It's a shame that the blind list can't be incorporated, however beggars can't be choosers... I'm grateful to be able to at least change some of the blinds!!! Eric
Class 303 These reskins by Richard Fletcher they are on the DPS Website https://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/ under RF72 reskins They include an extended list of destinations the trains never used as the blinds were identical to the Class 304s The version on Vulcan Productions are also by Richard Fletcher but have a shorter list of destinations There would be no point in combining the lists are the short list has everything on the big list Peter
Cheers Dunc... Can anything be done about the line light or intensifying the marker lights when they're on??? Eric
Not sure, but worth a look. Once I've sorted lunch I'm going to go through a full reinstall of the 303 as well then take a look.
Cheers Dunc... the blind list is a lot more varied on the DPS version as opposed to the VP one... Dunno if the lists can be swapped??? I'm on the VP reskin as opposed to the DPS one at the mo...
Eric, after hours of messing about, short answer is yes, see screenshots below: Fixed lights off with 51 destination blind: Fixed lights on with 51 destination blind: Standard (broken as shipped) lights with 51 destination blind: This took me a solid 4 hours to sort, you need to be handy with code - I'll follow up with a breakdown of what's what and why the 303 ships with broken lights (DTG really!?). You don't need to edit the AP scripts for the destination blinds using this workaround. It's worth pointing out that the DP reskins aren't designed to work with the AP pack at all and their bin files do not reference the AP scripting for the destinations at any point. Use the VP ones, they're just better out of the box - however, I did utilise the DP pack for the textures for the 51 destination blind... more on that later. Dunc
Dunc... Can I elevate you to god like status??? Well that's cheered me up after an afternoon / evening out shopping...!!! I'd insert a gif but I don't know how to do it...!!! Eric
Are you saying that although the DP & VP skins are the same and by the same person they actually aren't the same (am I making sense??? I have had a cider...)... Eric
Spot on mate, and while I could talk you through editing it all yourself, it's probably easier if I make a mod for you to install. I also think I can improve those lights a little more still and no worries, I'm busy enjoying a pint of Guinness or three myself! So, we've learned: Install DTG pack Install AP 303 extra stock pack Install AP 303 sound pack Install VP skins Install DP skins Copy any missing Geo's over Move all number texture assets from DP folder to VP folders Edit bin files to up maximum destinationcontrol value from 13 to 51 (all associated bin files) Make 2 new copies of emu base folder (e.g. VP_xxx) and rename appropriately Edit 303 number bin files and split destination (a-z list) across two instances of loco (to avoid editing AP script) Edit all loco bin files to reflect new number texture folder structure Edit bin files to correctly place loco front light child objects (hidden in emu body as default!) Edit bin files to correctly place light flares in front of front lights PM me mate, and I'll sort out the mod for you. And enjoy your drink, it is Saturday after all! Dunc
Why do the marker lights on this picture look "normal" yet in game they look nothing like this...??? If anything, they're a little too bright IMHO...
Because DTG airbrush all their promotional material, despite not letting any modified images enter the screenshot competition.
