DTG instead of announcing that details would be released on May 4th and then stupidly announcing them before, they would have been better to announce them straight away or kept it secret until May 4th with no prior announcement.

i also think they would sell more, if the price was more realistic, as TSW2 can now be obtained for under £7.35 on cdkeys https://www.eneba.com/steam-train-sim-world-2-steam-key-global

They would sell an enormous amount at £9.99 with no free upgrade.

Ooooh okay so it's 3 lines for $30? That's super cheap.

Well it was obviously an error, unless you are an android I assume you have made the odd mistake?

You want three new routes for £9.99?

I'm certainly excited about the 387. Yes, it is another Electrostar, but we will finally have a British overhead electric EMU for TSW2. Plus the 387 is a good option for the livery editor with Great Norther, GWR, Heathrow Express and c2c also using them. I will certainly enjoy it for that at the very least.

I’m pretty sure it’s just gonna be a Q&A stream, not a gameplay reveal with screenshots or anything like that.

While the underlying research almost certainly was used again - especially with COVID making live research difficult or impossible- I would dispute that the artwork or rolling-stock modeling are the same and then simply deployed into a new environment. TSW2 rolling stock graphics use more polygons and higher-res textures than those in TS: the modeling and painting have to be done anew. And the physics modeling is completely and utterly different: Simugraph is a process-based simulation where TS uses CLUTs.

I'm wondering if we'll see more routes (not part of the Rush Hour pack) announced in the roadmap too. These routes all sound fun and €29.99 is a really good price for them, but I really want to see if there are any Dutch, Austrian, Swiss, Italian, Scandinavian and French routes or German diesel routes in the making too :).

sorry fans but it has already been leaked. We were right about Amtrak, Acela coming and its in boston but there is also another two more if you look on google. now the link has been taken down.
So true, hopefully everything will be polish before their released it to the public. I still kinda of disappointed no new routes such as NJT or The Metro North which many people have been asking for it two years ago, and still nothing. :(

Not only has the leaked page (someone will be getting tea and biscuits with Peter or Matt on Tuesday...) vanished but I can't get the Wayback link to generate it either. Nevertheless I get the general drift and if true it is excellent and very positive news. London to Brighton alone would be worth the asking price, from the UK user point of view.
Wonder if they will have a service/excursion layer for those who own the Class 33?
Looking further ahead, this route offers a magnificent opportunity to do a retro EMU pack. 4 CIGs and BIGs on the fast's, 4 VEPS on the semi fast services, EPB's on the suburbans with also Gatwick Express as Class 73/MLV push pull and even 319's.

How far does the overhead go? Will there be a system switching with these?
I am absolutely not surprised Acela is not there yet. If they did that, nobody would buy extra ACS-64 for the route, but now Acela loco add-on will sell like crazy considering it's the fastest section of NEC. They've done a good decision here I think, a reasonable amount of rolling stock to begin with, relatively easy to make (ACS already exists) and then Acela itself will be a big release.

Seems a bit stupid when you can get the game cheaply a few months after release with cdkeys.

Well London to Brighton alone makes this a Day 1 purchase for me, from Steam, not about to go cheap on them.

I doubt that this are the routes that will come with rush hour
Also the Talent 2 has different livery in the article then in the photo lower down in the article that looks like it's from Koln-Aachen

Dang the graphics, is that TS Classic?

But im looking forward to Riesa Dresden and London Brighton. The NEC is ,,just" a Nice to have for me, but since you get 3 routes to the price of one, id take everything with it.
(Finally there's a new American passenger route, there are just a few in TSW (Like irl :P) so the lack of US Passenger routes is pretty realistic :)

Actually, the contrary. Releasing next gen-native versions means that they can be released with PC levels of detail, rather than PS5 and XBox X/S owners having to put up with last-gen performance.

From what I read in the article, there was no mention of improved graphical performance i.e. draw distance and shadows.
Only thing that was mentioned was improved frame rate and loading times for next gen versions.

It’d be interesting to know how many people are rattling away on original Xbox, ps, 360, pro etc. Appreciate not everyone is able to go mad on latest tech but the player base must surely sit in the mid to higher specs now in terms of user base

I think we can be confident this is the real thing. I’m sure DTG is aware of the ‘faux pas’ and of the huge amount of excitement generated in the forums and it would have crushed that excitement with swift haste if not accurate.

They did this for TSW2 release 3 brand new routes. And as the release is for this summer. The routes would of been worked on for many months.

There is a significant amount of services to be simulated with only the 387 and 377. With those two you can have full length London - Brighton services with both slow and fast stopping patterns. Services from Victoria to Bognor Regis and Horsham can also be added terminating at Three Bridges in the game of course. Then there’s gatwick express service patterns throughout the route with many terminating and starting from Gatwick Airport. The only major hole in the timetable would be Thameslink, but that could be rectified with just one loco DLC. That could be a 700, 319 or both depending on the specific year the route is set in. The most noticeable holes are going to be in and around London. The Victoria and Clapham Juction section will feel weird without any SWE, Southeastern, overground, and local Southern trains coming in and out.

I really like these routes stock wise it's underwhelming a bit but we are still dealing with a pandemic. For me it makes sense will definitely be purchasing this day one. London to Brighton which the latter is already modelled and maybe we even get a connection with ECW I'm sure we get direct services to Eastbourne from London Victoria we did in 2016 haven't been down there in a very long time. German route makes sense was recently released for TS1 and we had a live stream about it for TS1 last week. I guess more stock will come with these add ons and hopefully DTG can get Thameslink license for TSW2. American routes not familiar with but will definitely try out the Boston route.

Unless it's one of those sneaky "accidental" leaks that are actually intentionally leaked to make up hype by getting people talking about it, lol. Though I don't see DTG doing that. It was probably just a mistake.

Hopefully DTG can whip up some nice screenshots of the new routes for the official May 4 announcement since it won’t be a surprise anymore. I doubt it though because no screenshots were included in the leaked article and the routes are probably still heavy in development since release is still months away.

For the IC Dostos you need 5th Gen, not 4th.

    -------------------
The 101 doesn't run on this route, only the IC2 (146/Dostos). Nor does the ICE 3.

I am curious to know if existing routes in the future would get a sepreate rush hour theme timetable or just putting more trains on existing timetable.

Probably upgrading/replacing the old one. What would be the point in keeping the older, worse timetable?

The older one can't be replaced due to achievements and progression being tied to it. They mentioned that when talking about the preserved collection team adding a new timetable for RT. Thankfully we can now have more than one timetable on one route, making an upgraded timetable possible while preserving the original one.
