Just having a discussion over on the ‘book of face’ ... The most obvious choice is 150/2 for Truro / St Ives. Who else agrees?
I agree it’s a reasonable choice, however now that they corrected the era I have pretty much lost all interest.
I think there could be the chance of the Pacer being part of the route once the chosen locos is locked in
No Pacers, they'd already been banished from the South West by that point, there was the 143 that Canton/SPM stuck on a 158 turn to Penzance. NR hit the roof, and the crew added a Kernow sticker to the front end. As to why they were banished, they were eating wheelsets on a monthly basis on the sharp curves on the branches, so they were swapped for more 1st gen units, until Sprinters arrived in the SW in the early 1990s
I definitely agree that we need a Sprinter in the game and whilst my favourite is the 156, I love the 150/2 just as much the Route will be an instant grab for me if it includes one
Perfect suggestion. It would be great to see this. I adore this route, having travelled it many times. I sincerely hope that Rivet take the time and care to do it justice. Some of the scenery is beautiful - Marazion, St Michael's Mount, Carbis bay etc.
The 3 trains I'd like to see on this route (not all of them obviously) are the Pacer, HST or Sprinter (150).
