for a potential new TSW route how about Edinburgh to Glasgow with potentially via Falkirk Grahamston also in the times of Class 27’s wither end and/or moving into the days of Class 47’s and DBSO driving cars? Make a decent change to see another Scottish route in the game.
You could set it in the early 60s, when the Glasgow Buchanan Street station (now demolished) existed as a terminus along with Queen Street for services heading north and east. That would make the route 262920272x more interesting
I would rather have the E+G line set either in 2012 or 2015 with the Class 170, 156 and 158 with the line going to Alloa or Dundee as an optional branch. As a Scotrail train driver i am not a big fan of having the route set in the 60s or 80s. I would like to have the route(s) set between 2000 and 2015 before the E&+G line was Electrified(just a personal opinion).
The same as dasmith1 for me. I would rather it was 2000-2015 or Modern day. Edinburgh - Glasgow with the branches to Stirling & Alloa. Class 170, 158 & 156.
The 70's or 80's would be a very interesting period for the route in my opinion. Much more varied collection of stock would be possible. I suspect an Edinburgh to Glasgow route will almost certainly appear one days as it is a well known route and the perfect length for TSW.
I mean if the Alloa & Stirling lines are included you could get the highly requested Sprinters in. (2010-15 era). In this table below, it can be seen that E-G is well requested.
