Hey guys. Me and my friend Forest Hills Railfanning Productions just made a video talking about everything you need to know about the upcoming NEC route coming to TSW2. We also talk about possible DLC ideas for the route. Most DLC ideas I've seen so far is just the Acela. We go deeper and talk about other DLC options for this route that are not being talked about. If you want to see that portion of the video, please skip to 06:28. If you want to learn more about the upcoming route, feel free to watch the entire video.

they could try to bring back the SW1000R and Amfleet Cabcar
they could also do the NRE 2GS12B as a switcher for this route

Neither the SW1000R or Amfleet Cabcar run north of New York, so doubt we'll see these come back unfortunately.

Correct. The cab car only runs on Keystone services that run along the Keystone Corridor. The routes these trains go on are New York Penn-Harrisburg and do not go to Boston.

Yeah thought so. Hopefully they'll come back in the future if we get any NEC sections where they actually run.

How about AEM-7 & HHP-8 those were common on the Northeast Corridor pre 2014 when the 46th President Joe Biden toured the ACS-64 locomotives which marked the first Revenue Service run.

I do believe we need more Amtrak DLC like Superliner and P42DC Amfleets and Viewliners. Not for NEC since Superliners can’t run there but for routes that do use them and the P42DC but I don’t know if DTG will use them on routes that see Amtrak with two trains in each direction.

Viewliners do fit NEC Boston Providence since it's found on trains 65, 66 & 67 the night owl service originating or ending at Boston South Station. For Timetable service mode Train 67 Twilight shoreliner service to Newport News leaves Boston South Station at 21:30 Arrive Providence at 22:22 then off map after Providence station. The inbound trip train 66 is 06:56 Providence 07:58 Boston South Station. That way NEC Boston Providence ends up being the 2021 version due to the Viewliner IIs

Could see an Acela added as one, and perhaps an alternate loco+duble decker cars for the commuter service as a second.

The Genset is a great idea. I'd love the Avelia Liberty as well. A CSX and/or NS diesel is needed for freight services.
