For years i've had issues with TSW and Train Simulator not implementing a joystick interface, they just didn't seem interested I really don't know why. Then I purchased TranSim which had great reviews incorporating VR (I use this with my Quest 2) as well as...joystick control, I use my Saitek PC Flight Stick Cyborg Evo Wireless with no third party interface...It just works out the box! TramSim - Features (tram-sim.com) Please Train SIm World and Train Simulator take note...
For those such as me, where obtaining a raildriver can be very tricky, this is definitely the best alternative. Besides, I'm sure there's a fair amount of players who enjoy Train and flight sims!
I started developing a tool for the same problem. It converts the joystick's output to keyboard presses which can be registered by the game.
