It's 300 shapes total, and with the current avaliable shapes it's really easy to hit that limit.

Sadly, each graphical element = 1 layer, and there is no means by which one can merge or flatten them. The fixed 300-layer budget is the biggest limitation of Livery Designer: there are many other things which are inconvenient, but which can be worked around. But the layer limit is an immovable dead end. For example: when I did the Clinchfield F7, doing the "Clinchfield" lettering in correct Roman typeface took 73 layers, per instance. That means 219 out of 300 layers used for three logos... and on the SD40 it would have been 292. Therefore I had to come up with some creative ways to cheat, otherwise I would have had nothing but lettering at all.

It would be nice to be able to chose different fonts or increase the layers.

I have been busy, replicating liveries seen in the Class 59 albeit on the Class 66. I have done the following liveries: Aggregate Industries and Hanson. E5FE25C8-E8D2-45D7-8D0D-C6C61992C434.png 0C0D9F93-491B-483C-82B8-5C85C161DC5F.png

I'm not sure why I enjoy trying to reproduce old liveries as exactly as I can, but I do

...just made a very unique livery for the BR101 with the famous "Adler" motif. It was the first steam locomotive, which was driven in Germany in 1835, at the opening of the first German railway line between Nürnberg and Fürth. Because this loco was build in the UK, so there was an english train driver on the premiere trip. This "Märklin" livery was made exclusively for 101 071-9. On the original loco there is additional advertising text on the side walls too, but since I was already at the limit of 300 layers, I decided to leave it out. This way the motif gets more attention and it still looks good.

Not just the premiere trip! William Wilson drove Adler for the rest of its service life and continued to work for the Bayerische Ludwigsbahn for 25 years until his death in 1862; he is buried in Nuremberg.

Interesting. (Teach me to remember "Never say 'never'" when it comes to DB...)

At a guess I would say it was a function of the addition of 2nd Class to IC trains, which meant adding more coaches and the extras were just taken from the standard pool in regular blue paint.

oh DB loved to have extremly colourful mixed trains in the 80s. It was just beautiful.

And, to me, alien: when I was living there (1968-73) DB trains were very somber, dark green, dark blue and maroon. The first break in the color wall was the Munchen S-Bahn, built for the Olympics: white trains with bright blue window bands??!

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the national express has been running on the RE4, RE5, RE6 and RE7 lines and the RB48 in the Rhei-Ruhr-Express since 2014 and until 2033.

Sadly, it appears that AI trains on German routes never spawn in custom liveries.

Howdy all. This is my first post and my first attempt at the livery designer. I've recreated my hometown GO Transit in original livery with both the new (ie old old) Trillium logo and old (hot tub) Trillium logo.

Cool! What colors did you use for background and numbers? I've tried black-on-yellow and white-on-black and just got washouts.

there ain't a list, but as a general rule you can only paint stuff that isn't preserved collection. (stuff from TSW instead of TSW2). the one in particular you are asking about is being worked on as of right now, check the roadmap/roadmap streams for more information.
Livery designer routes/trains (sorry for spelling errors):
    Sand Patch Grade
    ^C40-8W/ coal wagons
    Koln-Achen
    Bakerloo line
    Clinchfield Railroad
    Southeastern High Speed
    ^ Networker DLC
    Arsolaline
    LGV Mediterranee
Ruhr Seig Nord (currently in progress)
^ DB BR 363/cement wagons (done as of now, but can't be used in-game due to a bug)
    Munchen - Ausburg
Main Spessart Bahn (In progress, held up due to lack of artist)
    Long Island Railroad
    ^M3 loco add-on
Penn. Corridor (planned as part of crew focus)
^MP36PH/bi-level cars (done, but don't spawn on AI trains)
^MP15dc (planned as part of crew focus I would assume)
    Rapid Transit
    ^DB BR 182/dopplestocks
    East Coastway
    DB BR 101
Trains from the BR diesel legends pack
    Rush Hour DLC (planned)
Anything released after SEHS and LGV routes should have support

If I missed any, someone say something and I'll stick it on there
all trains are Planned to become editable, but it could take awhile. why? cause DTG thats why.

At least with regard to the 363, this apparently changed recently. You can now select alt-liveries for the 363 in Timetable mode. Sadly, like ALL German rolling stock, they never spawn randomly.

One train is missing the OBB Night Jet which can be made by Reskinning the DB BR 182 into OBB Red or Nightjet paint together with the DB IC Coaches reskinned into OBB night jet paint. One of those has a Car transporter attach the Dusseldorf to Wien Hbf service the other one comes from Brussels Midi which has the SNCB Class 18 swapped at Aachen Hbf for OBB 1116 a reskinned DB BR 182 all the way to Wien Hbf from Aachen.

Is there an official "name" for this livery? I guess mint is just a nickname.
