How should LZB operate in this locomotive? Now (after Rapid Transit Update) works like this: - G for braking information works // OK - does not allow the maximum authorized speed to be exceeded // OK - does control the speed with AFB // OK - speedometer does not display the upcoming speed limit // ? ** - AFB needle always shows 230 on the speedometer, when under LZB control // ? - on the HUD, AFB shows 160 and there is no LZB blue circle like SKA / HMA // NOT OK summary.1 & summary.2 Spoiler: ** Numerous edits, following explanations in the thread, so as not to mislead anyone.
I just tested it. AFB slowing down for LZB worked for me, although I tested it on SKA and not RT so maybe there is some issue with the LZB section on RT. But I can confirm that the LZB current monitored speed bug doesn’t move on the speedo.
My speedometer showed correct upcoming speed during my test ride. It was mostly 000, but nothing wrong with that. Later it did change, in particular it showed the upcoming line speed limit of 140 and then just before the end of the LZB section it showed 40. The AFB-controlled loco slowed down as it should in both cases. What did not work for me was acknowledgement of LZB Ende, I pressed all possible buttons to see if they didn't mess them up, but got an emergency brake anyway. And loco did register me pressing them, because the aural acknowledgement did play. All this on RT, Bitterfeld to Leipzig.
Yes, I can confirm the same. I am on PC. The instrument lights also do not show up, whether I use the keyboard shortcut or press the buttons with my mouse. Cheers
Just to summarize from my side With the HUD off, it looks less broken and maybe even works almost fine. 1. OK. 2. LZB needle - OK. 3. AFB needle - fixed in max (230) position, regardless of the actual position of the lever / perhaps it should be so. 4. Sometimes it shows 000, but that's probably not only for 182. I can't judge that. Now it shows me 040 - hopefully, the train will start to brake (AFB ON) and not just display G. EDIT OKAY. It brakes. Perhaps earlier (G) these were imperceptible (kN) corrections. I "m blind... I cannot comment on points 3 and 4 & I am concerned about the HUD. Overall, looks pretty fine. BR o7 EDIT confirm (after pressing [End] / I didn't tried [PgDn])
With all the reports coming in right now, I see why Adam wanted to hold the 182 update back. I wonder what let to the decision to release it anyway.
I’d quite like to buy the 182 once it’s finally finished properly- where do the extra services it adds go to and from on Rapid Transit? With the new update no trains go all of the way through so I wondered if the 182 services do.
Didn't Adam say the 182 will have to wait since they have no artist to implement the LZB functionality into the loco, aka it works on the HUD but there are no visuals in the loco. Is this maybe the result of this? Or did they actually get to fix it?
The 182 is a personal favorite for me; my preferred loco for freight services layered into other routes.
Just wanna chime in, for me the 182 LZB works fine on Munich-Augsburg. I've done a Rapid Transit service earlier and was under the impression that its ok there as well.
LZB Ende confirmation works OK too? EDIT I've tested it on HMA - same result. So, this is the problem with 182, not with the RT LZB section.
Also tested on SKA for the BR 182, same problem with the LZB Ende : impossible to confirm and emergency brake.
I did a test with a BR 423 on RT, no worries to validate the LZB Ende. The problem is related to the BR 182.
OK. Just to summarize one more time 1. BR 182 - gauges backlight does not work // BR 182 problem ------------------------- LZB --------------------------------------------------------- 2. LZB Ende confirmation does not work // BR 182 problem 3. Missed LZB information on the HUD eg ain't no 'blue circle' / 'LZB needle' // BR 182 problem 4. Speedometer does not always display the upcoming speed limit for LZB // GLOBAL TSW issue / LOCAL (route) LZB section issue / OR ** ** I don't know how it works in reality - always shows the next speed limit? Is there any explanation for 000?
Not the confirmation, but the display itselfs works. And 000 gets displayed when the next "speed change" is a full stop. So 3000m on the distance display and 000 on the speed display means expect a full stop in 3000m. So this is indeed plausible afaik
Oh, OK., thank You for the explanation PS Although I rather doubt it. I just did 101' run. It was a long time 000, with no stop, then a sequence of speed limits.
There seem to be varying issues depending on platform. I'm a PS4 player and no PZB or LZB indicators work on the desk at all. However, the dials do illuminate (just press the + to the left of the indicators).
The part with the dials is only true for consoles it seems like. On the PC the + only illuminates the LZB annunciator lights. In reality the left one should illuminate the dials while the right one changes brightness of the annunciators.
I'm not an expert at all, but it could also be that there is no upcoming speed change in the next 10km I think? On the other hand it should just show the top allowed speed then. EDIT: nevermind, 000 means "Halt erwarten" which means expect a full stop.
This 'problem' also occurs in both ICE and 101 so no new big deal Your explanation above sounds very logical and plausible. I wonder if that's how it actually works IRL.
Yes, I saw, thank you very much, it's interesting Undoubtedly, this is neither a BR 182 problem nor a Rapid Transit problem. However, perhaps this is the problem of LZB in TSW.
