I don't get why they keep restricting the camera. Let the player decide how they want to use the camera
It’s certainly gave Rapid Transit a new lease of life, really enjoyed it. However, when driving an S6 towards Markleeberg, I get a player detailed message almost immediately.
Because either the external camera clips, or they turn it off. The third option, leaving the camera usable outside the tunnel as we saw in the Clinchfield demo stream, can't be done near Penn Station because it would require them to model all of midtown Manhattan! There is no "outside" to that tunnel.
It was like that in tsw2020. I had times where the camera clipped and I didn't complain on lirr. Nobody did. Just reset the camera if it clips. No need to restrict the player. Let the player decide how they want to use the camera
Definitely some issues slipped through in QA in RT. I got wheel slip at power level 2 when tempomat is enabled and the brakes also wheel slip even on level 4 in the tunnel. The cab is brightly lit even in a dark tunnel and something wierd is going on with the lighting overall. I haven't looked at the other stuff yet.
The 8 camera is still outside every station wall in the tunnel for me on PS4. I enjoyed a nice run out with the 182 and the route looks much better now. However, I loaded up LIRR to have a look at the improvements there and had to turn it off after a short while. The sounds on the M7 are the most tinfoil scratchy harsh sounds I think I’ve ever heard on TSW or anywhere for that matter. Truly bad. Volumes may have been tweaked but the EQ on the sounds is really poor. The M7 looks like a Dalmatian dog on the outside now. Gone is the shiny splendour and now it looks both ugly and absurd. I couldn’t look at it. For this reason any improvements to the route have passed me by because I didn’t have time to notice any before I had to go and lie down due to the shock of the abomination of a train I had just encountered. It was perfectly playable in TSW2020 so I don’t know what has gone so badly wrong here. No more playing LIRR for me.
Damn you right ! I'm sick to have so much stuttering as day one and always the same trees, electric lines and other textures problems And I have lost my career stats for rapid transit
They converted it into a satin color to make it compatible with the livery designer. In reality, the m7 is metallic, not satin. So the m7 looks unrealistic which is just great I don't get why they couldn't have just kept the metallic shiny color
I’m sorry but the pis don’t work on the m7, lighting issues (interior) with the M3 haven’t been fixed, other bugs haven’t been fixed and dtg have just gone along and made the m7 sounds worse Well done dtg- well done
The pis on the lirr is inaccurate compared to real life as well. There are images of the comparison on the 4th may roadmap thread if you want to see for yourselves. I am surprised that they got it wrong since they said that a new pis system would have to be developed due to the obiovous fact that it uses a different style system compared to the British and German routes in the game but they just copy/paste the pis system from sehs into lirr
I will sum up this update in one word: a dud. Despite some positive changes (312 services, although not all of them work ...), we get the buged LZB, controversial lighting and bad sound. Below expectations. Rapid Transit in a package with BR 182 could possibly be some kind of Christmas gift from DTG. This is still the worst TSW route, and the ugly (because of terrible, unreadable cockpit) version of 182 does not improve this. The attempt to save the situation probably failed. A very big plus at the end: you feel the increased volume of traffic. This could be an argument for yes.
As far as I remember, Adam specifically said they were not implementing the PIS on the trains, only the platforms.
Rapid Transit from 2018 to date has been an underrated DLC. But the potential of this route (even long by the way) was high. From today it will finally be a pleasure to rediscover it. Big up for DTG. Someday, it would be nice to also review corrected and improved NY NEC for TSW2.
Just done the S8 Service with the BR143 to Dessau. Besides having an incredibly short turnaround, for some reason I simply couldn't get the train going back to Halle again. I just couldn't get it moving. For whatever reason. Brakes checked, pantograph checked, everything.
Hm. Tried closing it several times. Did a complete shut down off the loco/cab car. For me nothing worked. Maybe I've done it wrong.
Did you try releasing the parking brake? Sometimes it is set, sometimes it is not and the game wont tell you.
Yes, everything. Weirdly, you know when you have control over a train when you press T it shows the current service? For me it did show the service immediately after I stopped there with the 143. When I went to the cab car there was a NPC sitting on the drivers seat and I basically had to take control again, never had that. Maybe its got something to do with that.
I ran a 182 service from Journey Mode of RT. I noticed that most of the passengers were piling up in the doorways of the train rather than sitting down!
Nice to see the young standing to leave free seats for the elder of our society! Jokes aside. I started the journey on RT yesterday and after the introduction for the 1442 and one scenario, I can only say that the sound of it bothers me the most. The faster I drove, the lower was the sound level. At 160 km/h there were almost no noises. Maybe it has to do with the difference between the 442 on SKA and the 1442 on RT, but I can assume they are still the same train, even if on different routes. I also noticed, that it is hard to bring the 1442 to a stand. It's been a while since I rode on RT, but if I remember correctly, it was never such as hard as it was yesterday. These are my impressions after an hour of playing since the update.
