Does this situation only apply to using TSW add ons with TSW2? I play the original game on disc with added content (for example the Tees Valley route). I presume that I won't need to contact anyone to continue using these add ons. Could anyone explain this preserved add ons situation please?
There is information right here https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/is-your-preserved-collection-on-disc-read-this.25166/
Thanks for replying. I've read the suggested post and don't understand what it's all about. Is there a specific Collectors Edition that this information relates to? My game on disc, that I'm aware of, is a base/basic version.
Basically anything that is on your disk that is now DLC for TSW2 you need to contact them for a code (for me that was GWE and RT) I sent a picture of the case, disk, and a payslip and I had the codes withing 24hrs.... All other downloads can be re-downloaded into TSW2 without any communication.... Took a bit of time to sort but it was all relatively easy....
Thanks for replying. So to clarify......I don't have TSW2.....I only play the base disc game of original TSW with some added DLC for use on said original game....I therefore don't need to do anything! Actually it's been so long since I played the game I will fire it up today to see if all of my downloaded content is still there. The Tees Valley DLC seemed all in order when I played it yesterday.
OK folks....I might be stating the obvious here....but, rather than 'faff' about getting TSW2 and then attempt to move content from TSW 2020 to it....couldn't I just buy a disc version of TSW2 and play the two versions of the game as two single entities? Like...fire up TSW 2020 to play that with its DLCs that I bought for it....or remove it and bung TSW2 into the console to crack on and play the new version. I see the cost of purchasing TSW2 as about the same as an original game version DLC purchase.
Right then. I reckon that I'm ready to purchase TSW2 for my XBox One console. I still don't fully understand the logistics of transferring content between TSW 2020 and TSW2. The way I understand it is that downloaded DLC will port over quite easily but that original content on the disk will need an activation code to port over......or I buy the same content on TSW2. Correct me ( and I'm sure some one will) if I've got it wrong.
Worked a little different for me. I had the original game on disk You have to have TSW and TSW2 installed at the same time. Then In TSW2 you go to the in game store and for the original routes where they are listed they were shown as £0.00. I just had to click them to download the TSW2 version Once all the original routes and dlc from the original TSW are in TSW2 then you can safely remove the first game if you want to
I said that because I only saw a post for PS4. Didn't see anything for Xbox. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...llection-on-disc-read-this.25167/#post-186838
Ok so if u have some routes on tsw 2020, and have tsw2 and would like to transfer the over here is what you need to do... A) contact customer support under preserved collection claim. B) tell them which routes on tsw2020 that you would like to transfer over C) tell them what platform you are on D) send a picture of the tsw2020 disk and disk cover E) you should receive a code within a day (normal times)
My confusion about porting TSW content to TSW2 continues. I must have only played about 20% of the original game so thinking of just plugging away at that. TSW2 content might even be offered to XBox players at sale prices by the time that I complete playing through TSW!
