That's a looooot of scenery assets (especially on the rock formations) to make for this route. Hopefully, it'll be worth it in the end (for both PC and Console).

And I'm betting the locos and rolling stocks aren't still ready yet.

Wow, I loved reading this article. We still need to see how good it will be, but there is a lot of dedication in making it look good.

I'm normally not really interested in American Routes. But this one looks absolute gorgeous. By far the most beautiful
    scenery so far.

And also a completely new scenery. We don't have such a track yet. That's why I'm really looking forward to this track.

Yes it looks great, it will be our first route in the TSW franchise to be mainly focused in a canyon/dessert setting.
It is also fairly unique as well.
    Only time will tell.

Looks better as Arosa from Rivet, if it looks Ingame the same.

I wonder what service mode will look like since IRL there’s only like three services a week that run on the line.

I would expect a split up of the branchline services similar to Clinchfield. (IE Potash Local Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 etc.) Maybe a few short mainline trains will be added between Brendel and Thompson Springs.

Very excited for this one! The article was very interesting to read. This will be the first route for TSW2 with this environment which is already exciting, add to the fact it’s being created by a 3rd party developer (Skyhook games) brings even more excitement to the table. This route is looking to be very detailed and beautiful and is another great example for how 3rd party developers can really add a lot to TSW2!

This would be my guess as well. Maybe also switching and/or loading services? Looking forward to finding out!

Only switching services would be at the Potash mine for exchanging cars I would assume, the Uranium Tailing trains don't really do that much in terms of switching, and the yard at Thompson Springs is not in use. (The Potash Local originates from Grand Junction, CO)

So I’m again going to mention the lighting. In these shots, it looks like the German forest, not a desert, but I’ve also seen good renders of the route in the past. Hopefully we get the good bright, cool, and vibrant lighting and not this warm, dark, and dull lighting we’re seeing in this article.

That image reminds me of a school project where bits of pictures from magazines are cut out and glued to a flat blue board to make a 2D image. Something looks "off".

Now let's hope the locos will also match the quality of the scenery with their sounds :D (also I guess there might be a solid echo in such a canyon)

The Locos are probably are recycled from DTG?

The base model, physics, and possibly sounds would most likely be recycled. However, the trucks on the AC4400CW would need to be redone, as UP uses AC4400s with GEs Hi-Adhesion trucks, while the CSX model in game has the Steerable trucks. Also not all of UP AC4400CWs have the number boards on the nose, as some and the ex SP models are above the cab. The SD40-2 will also need its model tweeked to match a UP prototypical model.

Is there any good description of how these work? I get that one (probably one) axle can move a bit/rotate, but from just looking at the truck I have no idea, what's the case here.

Steerable Trucks means that each axles can turn separately instead of the whole thing. Makes it easier when on a curve.

Each of them? That's very nice, normally I'd expect only one because two axles can already do well in curves. Interested if this difference will be in the game.

It could be the blueprint (or the starting point) to recreate the American Fall. :D

Agghhh, this is torture! I haven't been this excited for a route since I heard that Sand Patch Grade would be included with TSW2. I NEED this route ASAFP!

I realize that this article was strictly about the environment. Many of us over here will be familiar with the Utah desert and these shots certainly look very authentic, although the area is more than just mountains and rock faces; there are large stretches of scrubland and undesert- like water. What I'm looking for are some examples of the infrastructure around Potash-Moab and other locations and, especially the locomotives and rolling stock. I'll look forward to future articles with more information about these details before getting too excited.

Sorry man, but "authentic" is pushing it. I can't be the only one seeing this?
More like a 2D diorama made from magazine cuttings...

I think those were shots of the development where the rocks didn’t have textures. As far as I know this is all very much in development.

The mountains look almost photorealistic to me, you can't really have it much better than this on a 2D screen imo.

Where did you get that image? I've seen it before, but it's not in any of the articles and uses the old TSW logo. Are you sure it's official? If so, that looks amazing, and the lighting seems to be better.

The pictures are from this thread. I believe they came from Skyhooks's WordPress side.

Those links do not work, but it's good to know that those images are coming from the devs themselves. That's some of the best scenery I've seen in-game.

It doesn’t matter how good anyone makes the scenery look, there’s always that one person who comes along and spoils it. If you think it looks like photos from a magazine, then they have done a grand job. Most criticism of scenery in TSW is that it looks like a game from [insert year here] and this is [insert current year here].
