I was wondering if dovetail can make CSX locomotive add-ons for sandpatch grade and The Northeast corridor on the coming soon rush-hour add-on, locomotives like, The NRE genset (and Amtrak mp14b genset), sd40-3, teir llll sd70ace, and csx ex contrail bay window cabooses ( shoving platforms )
…totally agree- if anything, DTG needs to broaden their suite of American freight lines represented in the sim, not stick to the same-old same-old. Plenty of good suggestions in these forums about this… not one response from DTG as far as I’ve seen.
I agree. However, it would be nice to start having some American routes with various trains that can substitute in and out for more diversity and service layers. It seems like every single German route has trains from other German routes that even if they do not add layers, can at least substitute in for some variety which makes those routes a lot more fun to play. I hope at some point we will get to a place where that is true of American routes as well. Hopefully they will add the UP locomotives as substitutes on Sand Patch, because while they may not be CSX, foreign power is not an uncommon thing for any American railroad.
They already have rolling stock substitution on the NA routes, surely having loco substitution wouldn't be too tricky, especially considering that all 3 Class 1s in the game have GP38-2s.
Except GP38-2s aren't usually found outside their home rails anymore, since most of them are now assigned to either yard or local work, so you wouldn't see them as run thru power. The AC4400CW is the only real canadate that can be substituted onto SPG from UPs roster of power.
The problem with that is that in Germany you have one state railway covering the whole country, Deutsche Bahn, and its livery is seen everywhere (along with a couple of leasing companies like MRCE). That doesn't work in the US, any more than in post-BR Britain. While freight cars do get mixed up a lot, traction usually doesn't (RR are very jealous about trackage rights); you are not often going to see a UP locomotive on a CSX route, or a Canadian Pacific on Norfolk Southern track, any more than you would see a Class 43 in GWR green running in Scotland. It already bugs the heck out of me that I have '70s Clinchfield SD40s popping up on 2010s CSX Sand Patch.
That being said, colourful trains are at least relatively common in southeastern Canada, where I live. In fact, the last train I saw (bit over a week ago) had a UP loco in it, even though it was a CP train.
We really need some railroads other than CSX, I believe. We're getting UP and Amtrak shortly, but when you look at the variety available on TS20XX, we could have more licensed roads. I guess we're not going to see BNSF, but I'm thinking NS, CP, DRGW, WP and even B&O. Of course, that means new routes to run them on. Then again, I'm not sure if the licensing covers TSW.
What? There are plenty of cases where foreign power ends up on trains not in their area, either thru power leasing or as run thru power. Hell, even 1 service that come with Sand Patch Grade (K145) is supposed to run with BNSF power IRL. And for local catches for me.... CSX on a Union Pacific train Ferromex on a BNSF train Kansas City Southern on a Union Pacific train Canadian Pacific on a BNSF train
I like this idea and maybe make it a CSX Legends engine pack. With older engine types and paint schemes
What's the reason for the lack of editor again? There are too many proposed routes for one team (DTG) to build. With the editor there wouldn't be a burden for one team to build so many routes.
We are just suggesting the route, and not expecting them to make every one. The DTG team chooses the most popular and makes those.
How about this one CSX Selkirk Yard to North Bergen,NJ the former New York Central West Shore Line 131 miles end to end. New locomotives are SD70ACE Tier 4 3200s-3300s and ET44AC Tier 4 2015 emission standards 8900s. Bonus for the route is that the tier 4 locomotives appear Sand Patch Grade if CSX West Shore Line is owned. in return SPG gives c s x North Bergen to Selkirk New York GP-38-2 SD-40 AC4400CW & Dash-8
A couple months ago, I saw CN, CP, UP, and BNSF on CSX tracks in one day. CN entering the CSX yard... CSX leaving the yard passing a UP... CP sitting on the engine layover tracks in the CSX yard... And from the last couple weeks: KCS on CSX... And CN sitting at the CSX fuel racks... Locomotives from other railroads operating on other railroad's tracks is a very common occurence in the US and Canada. Shots like the ones above can be found all over the US on every large railroad. I think it would be great as we get more railroads and locomotive models in TSW2, to see them integrated into the timetables of other routes, regardless of who owns the tracks. However, the locomotives should stay in the own time period. The CRR SD40 does NOT belong on SPG. No locomotive painted in the CRR colors survived through the 1990's.
