So you know the Diesel Legends pack? I thought that maybe for the Northeast Corridor: Boston - Providence
it would be cool if there could be a DLC that has the Amtrak AEM-7 (toaster), Acela and the HHP-8.
I think that the HHP-8 was on this route but I could be wrong. I made a little picture of what it could look like.

Excellent idea all of them are used up to now except for the two locomotives HHP-8 & AEM-7 were retired from 2014-2016 & Acela Express retirement is 2021-2022.

The Diesel Legends lack was made exclusively using content that already existed in the game, which is how so many Locomotives were in it. They had already made them.

A pack of three brand new locomotives isn’t going to happen. You may get one as a loco DLC but that’s as far as it likely to go.

This pack idea would certainly make the Boston - Providence route full of variety with locomotives

They are never operated on Boston to Providence before December 14th 1999 electrified portion of Northeast Corridor was Washington DC to New Haven. Therefore a reworked/remade NEC Newark,NJ to New Rochelle NY is the home route of Amtrak former Penn Central GG-1 E60 & metroliner. If a Future Swedish Railway route is made then X2000 is layered or Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Würzburg is made ICE1 is layered with both having modified Pantograph for NEC Newark airport New Rochelle New York

So what engines did run that part? Plus the engines in the picture are not that old. I saw two of the three in the station in D.C. while transferring trains.

I don't think the GG-1 would be fun here, but on dedicated route set in the past they would be great. Maybe even add in some PRR steam locos (or older diesels) onto such a route, although I'm not sure if the GG-1 operated alongside steam locos on the same routes (the US is far from my expertise). I would certainly buy that :).

GG1 hasn't operated on Boston to Providence Because by the time it was introduced into Amtrak service 1971 1983 11kv 25hz 1979 upgrade to 12.5kv 25/60 hz ac the only electrified territory was Washington DC Union Station to New Haven Union Station 297 miles (about 480 kms). The proper locomotives for Amtrak Legends of Boston Providence it has to be after 14 December 1999 HHP-8 & Acela Express and 1978-1981 Construction AEM-7. The Home Route for Amtrak GG1 is a reworked Newark,NJ to New Rochelle, NY because the Newark airport railway station was built in 1999-2004.

I know, that's why I said it wouldn't be fun here ;). As mentioned, I'd like to see the GG-1 on a route set in the past, on which it ran in real life.

The AEM 7, RC4 and X2000 could be fun to have on an Amtrak route set in the past so DTG could start somewhere with Swedish trains but on an american route

Absolutely correct and the place place for it should be Northeast Corridor New York New Haven or Philadelphia to New York and can be combined with Philadelphia to New York section becoming Northeast Corridor Philadelphia New Haven. If a German route featuring ICE1 DB BR401 was added then it can layer here if Northeast Corridor Philadelphia to New Haven which is broken down into two segments Philadelphia to New York and New York New Haven was set in 1993 X2000 ICE1 while RC4 was 1974-1980 with CC6500.
