hi all, Today I’m suggesting the chiltern mainline from London Marylebone to Banbury, A distance of Just under 70 miles. Because I’m currently in a rush and have bad WiFi this post won’t include photos, sorry The important Stations are London Marylebone, High Wycombe, princes risbourough, Bicester North and Banbury. Rolling stock would be the Class 68 [and mark 3 DVT] and class 168/1 and /2 turbostars. Service patterns include [pre covid] 2 TPH in each direction Normally the 68s operate services fast from Banbury and London with some services stopping at other stations. I am also suggesting the inclusion of the Bicester Village branch [to Oxford IRL] to double services between Bicester and London. Now I am going to suggest adding a DLC called: TSW 2: Diesel Multiple Unit Pack This will feature the class 165 networker turbo which can be edited from the class 166 from GWE and the class 172 Turbostar which is a bit unique compared to the other turbostars as it features different underfloor equipment leading to a unique sound. Thank you for reading these suggestions.
This is already found in the sister game train simulator 21 and needs to come to train simulator world introducing some more classic train simulator 21 trains class 68 & 168.
The Class 165 is a must have that can also be skinned for GWR in /1 subclass with /0 for Chiltern. Definitely should have this line but possibly with both paths to Aylesbury via either Harrow on the Hill or High Wycombe for more variety. I would buy in a heartbeat. Lastly, when we eventually get steam, the long lost Uxbridge High Street to Denham branch would be a most welcome addition as well as the line from High Wycombe via Loudwater to Bourne End/Marlow and Maidenhead.
fair enough, though my judgement was a bit biased because i despise when a 165 pulls up and not a 168 lol
I recall 1992 when the Class first arrived on Thames Line (as it was then). Such a change from the Class 117 stock. I love the sound of rev up on pull away and the acceleration was incredible at the time. Considering that they are now nearly 30 years old, they have proven to be a superb design, now finding work in the Bristol area following electrification of the London section of the GWML.
It is here in game livery Creator the proper Route for Class 165/1 is GWML Reading to London Paddington Station if the coupling function works scenario for it and couple it to the class 166.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiltern_Main_Line good suggestion- would buy it However arriva are pretty stingey when it comes to licensing
I think Chiltern railways gone abit down hill getting rid first class and buffet closed down now and with 2 car trains to London
Covid has caused a drop in ridership and until things pick up, cost cutting measures will be employed. Chiltern has made massive improvements to a very neglected line.
I’m gonna be honest, I forgot about this thread (edited because I can’t read what had already be typed)
