With what appears to be the KCS going into its final days as a railroad pending the merger with the CN, I think the time is now for a KCS route. A great one would be the New Orleans to Baton Rouge LA corridor or extended to Alexandria LA. With of tons of industry, grain, refineries, coal plants it can be a fantastic route. In New Orleans it has interchanges with the CN, Norfolk Southern, CSX, Union Pacific and New Orleans Public Belt railroads. The KCS is the 2nd oldest Class-1 railroad in the United States only the Union Pacific is older. It has been around since the 1880's and has out survived many major railroads who fell or were taken over by merges. We need a sim dedicated to it. Just my suggestion.
If the CN does aquire KCS, then you will never see a KCS route, as Dovetails licensing with Canadian National only applies to CN, and none of their owned fallen flag railroads. This is why the Bessemer and Lake Erie route got pulled, and no locomotives ever got released with the Illinois Central sublettering.
I would love to see a KCS route. They are one of my favorite railroads, and have been around a very long time.
