The Aachen - Mönchengladbach Railway line is Approx. 62 km railway main line. It's very important line, which connects Ruhr area to Belgium, and it's served by many international freight trains. There is also a lot of regional train traffic. Aachen - Mönchengladbach is one of the oldest railway lines in Germany, which was opened between 1852 and 1854. Rolling stock suggestions: DB Br 425 DB BR 111 with high entry dostos MRCE BR 189 Cab ride
Just for interest, what makes this route different than other routes, and are there any more reasons as to why this route should be added?
I suggested this, because it would be realistic for TSW2 and there is a lot different types of trains using this line. There is nothing that would make this line specially different. I just got the inspiration for this suggestion when I was watching the cab ride video, which is linked into the suggestion post.
But would the longer distance matter? Because we already have a route with 90 km and with Aachen-Duisburg it would only be 108 km so why would it be a problem and TS routes are also mostly really long, so why can't we get a long route to TSW2?
Love the Idea. Could be a chance to get the high entry DoStos with the BR111, as the BR 425 already exists. (If the Route is made with the old rolling Stock). Otherwise a RRX could run on many Northrhine Westfalia Routes and a BR 1440 could be used as for example on a future SBahn Route.
Aachen Mönchengladbach is only 3-4 km longer than Riesa-Dresden at 104-105 km (64-67 miles). If made this route can give the Black BR189 to Riesa-Dresden and it's Western Extension Leipzig Riesa. In return Riesa-Dresden gives DB BR442 DB BR146.1 to this route.
