On passenger routes, passengers don't leave the carriages, even when the train goes to the depot. They sit fiercely even in dark trains parked on stabling tracks! This is stupid and ruins the entire immersion. I don't really understand what professional DTG programmers have such a big problem with. After all, it can be solved with one line of code in BASIC 2.0: Code: 2020 IF DESTINATION = "DEPOT" THEN PASSENGERS = 0 or Code: 2021 IF DISPLAY="OUT OF SERVICE" THEN PASSENGERS = 0 I hope I helped Perhaps in 2045 this problem will be entered on the Roadmap and if it goes well, the bug will be fixed before 2050.
I have a feeling the issue lies more with the passengers' AI rather than the train, which is what the code above would apply to. Apparently the feature is there but it just doesn't work, and they've probably been putting off until this revamp of the passengers they've been threatening - hopefully they can do something about it in the Rush Hour update.
Really hope this will be one thing the new passengers are better at understanding - trains should go to depots EMPTY
Each passenger that spawns knows where he wants to go and tries to get a train to get there. There is a bug that prevents them from leaving the train when they should.
I swear that this was one of the passenger fixes Matt talked about in the Rush Hour stream. I’ll check later to see if I can find a timestamp.
Unfortunately it's not so simple: dtg trains show "out of service" even when they are in service on many routes... Come on! Omsi did this right so many years ago, DTG is really going for the minimum effort... Edit: Look at the bright side: with the next core update, the passengers will have even more variety as they'll get new colours for their garments! The out of service coaches will look even more lively!
how can there simultaneously be two such bugs? 1. Passengers universally alight at the first station and the train continues with no passengers 2. Passengers don't alight at the final station and continue to sit on the train when it goes out of service.
It completely ruins the immersion this bug was already present in tsw2 and it is still there in tsw3. Normally the beta testers should have noticed it, I don't understand why it's still not fixed.
Tell me where you see passengers in depot trains so I can go create bug tickets and get them on the squash list. The tech is there now and working since rush hour, but every service needs to be updated to use it (its last stop instruction needs to be an "unload" not a "load/unload" as current basically, its an easy change but needs to be done hundreds of times per timetable - probably not something you can safely/easily automate either for various reasons). Definitely not expecting it on any content new with TSW3, but in any case, ping details here so I can get it logged. Matt.
See Matt, I think this is one of the issues...every single service needs to be updated. That's crazy in my opinion. It seems there is no modularity in TSW, just like with the lighting every surface has to be adjusted and thousands of light source manually adjusted.
I had a slightly different problem. I started a morning service in the Caltrain depot heading to San Jose and a few of my passenger cars had one lady in a purple shirt sitting on the lower level. Seemed to be an identical passenger in each car. So this passenger spawned in the yard instead of refusing to get off. I assumed it was a set of triplets who work as FRA inspectors.
Hi TrainSim-Matt On SEHS there is a service with the 465 called 5G20 that is described as an ECS-service from Rochester to Gillingham Depot. It spawns full of passengers that ride the train all the way to the depot.
