In the early 1830s, the link between London and the south western docks of England was sub-par, and proposals for a railway connection were put forward by multiple companies. Two ports were shortlisted for receiving rails first, Portsmouth and Southampton, the latter would be chosen owing to its under-developed state in comparison Portsmouth’s established naval background.

Between 1838 and 1840, the Southampton, London & Branch Railway and Docks Company laid their new route. The new railway was not entirely direct as further extensions were proposed towards Bristol, but the Great Western Railway established a better connection before this could be made a reality. Despite all this, the line to Southampton was a success, and the ‘SL&BRDC’ renamed itself to become the London and Southampton Railway, and soon after that the London & South Western Railway.

    The locos:

The British Rail Class 444 Desiro is an electric multiple-unit passenger train built by Siemens Transportation Systems in Austria between 2002 and 2004. The Class 444 currently operate on express passenger services on south western railway

The British Rail Class 450 Desiro are third-rail DC electric multiple-unit (EMU) passenger trains that began service during 2003. The class 450 is used for outer-suburban services, on South Western Railway

The British Rail Class 455 is an electric multiple-unit passenger train built by BREL York between 1982 and 1985. They are operated on suburban services in South East England by South Western Railway and Southern.

Nice choice but other branches are interesting too. In particular the branches to Epsom and Chessington South. The latter was originally intended to reach Leatherhead but after being built as far as Chessington South, further work failed to take place and was eventually cut off by development on the required land.

If you plan on having the route set in SWR times, I doubt DTG would be able to get a license for the 455. They'll likely be forced to have a 701 instead. And since 450s are being replaced on the line soon, it would be best to replace the 450 with a 458.

Good suggestion, I particularly love portsmouth city and wish there was a TSW route there. Also this route may give some IA traffic to the upcoming London-Brighton at clapham juction station. The rolling stock is good and the route is good.
A good choice without a doubt.
    Greetings.

Isn't that just the entirety of the Portsmouth Direct Line?

I would prefer London Waterloo to Reading or Basingstoke instead of another PDL.

What you did to here is bring a classic Train simulator 21 route to TSW2 the Portsmouth Direct Line and speaking of class 455 & 456 they're 3rd rail top contact 750v DC versions of Cathcart Circle 318 & 320 25kv 50hz EMU. By the way those trains are based of Mk3 coaches
