So I am in my livestream currently running on Oakville Sub (service M39621-01 Oakville - Aldershot in GP38s) and its thunder & lightning ....... Im like What the ........... Its about 3 hours and 24 minutes in..... Just been left Speechless!! Its Journey mode as well. Regards Hentis
It doesn’t really work does it. Lovely sunny day, lightning striking, lighting up only a few things around it. Needs more work and a reminder to the journey timetable setters not to leave the lightning setting on after trying it out in a service to see how bad it is. I can only assume that’s what happened here.
Yeah - it's a measure of just how Rushed Hout..... Oakville was. They even left an experimental weather mode in the curated Journey module content. Full description of my views here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...er-in-oakville-g-p-38-journey-m39621-1.40048/ NB: I fully expect that both the TSW 2020 and TSW 2 versions of OSD will be patched to remove this (or patched for a specific warning to be included), as it isn't quite safe, or expected, for some players. This would certainly put some people that I know into an epileptic episoide (NB: I am not joking).
It was a mistake on the part of the developer who included it - that lightning effect has been in the game since CSX Heavy Haul but parked because it doesn't look good and is missing key parts to finish it off. At some point it'll get the work required and then it'll start being used. I imagine it'll be a task for preserved crew to remove it from the journey settings at some point, yes, and once the feature is properly in the game we can figure out the right way to use it. Matt.
Cheers Matt, I'm not to sure about the lightning effect it self but the Thunder sound was pretty convincing Cheers Hentis
Wow that was epic. I have never ever had that happen to me. I hope this is a feature they will put into the game. You are blessed..
I'm glad to know that one day we will have this in TSW, well implemented it will be spectacular! By the way Matt, regarding the experimental and wonderful "Bad Things" LGV route scenario. Many of us liked this and since then we haven't had anything similar. So, could you tell us if you are currently working on dynamic weather or have you put it on hold for now?
Thank you for your response Matt. Wow, I love this news. A scenery with built-in dynamic weather in Scotland I'm glad to hear they are still working on this, I'm sure they will surprise us with new features in the future.
