And here was me thinking abiding by the result of a democratically held and voted on referendum result was a basic principle of democracy? 2014 ( Once in a generation ) Scottish referendum result M8 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Scottish_independence_referendum Edit…. To make Glasgow Cathcart dlc truly realistic surely there should be a load of SNP and ALBA supporters marching up and down some platforms with placards and Saltire flags chanting for an independence referendum?
Small-minded weaponisation of the flags of the home nations is not appreciated by fans of a train simulator. Just another piece of evidence to anyone watching on from outside of Britain of just what a terrible bunch of people we are as a nation. We are such a shrinking entity in the world right now. No kind of solidarity here. We’re ripe for a take-over. Come on, France, now’s your chance to invade. We’re all fighting at the Scottish border over what flag should be used in a train game. It’s pathetic. DTG... take the flags off the menu screen.
Would that be the 2014 referendum you claimed wasn't legitimate coz you didn't get a vote on it? btw, Scotland is still part of the UK so the outcome of the referendum has been abided to. Unfortunately (for you) democracy isn't a one off event, it continues. Both Johnson and Corbyn claimed the 2020 GE was "once in a generation". Somehow, I expect we'll see one within the next 5 years or so. Now I could point out figures of speech and all that, and make a similar criticism of English education systems but I doubt you're representative of the rest of England (although it would explain why the tories do so well South of the Border).
Congratulations to the 3 of you for completely derailing the thread, take your argument somewhere else because no one else is all that interested. Pathetic.
Does it work on on all types of media ie radio, tv, etc, when wee Jimmy Krankie Sturgeon and her cronies start sprouting their guff? Sorry! I couldn’t resist.
Were that the case, then NTP, SEHS, TVL, WSR and ECW should all get the St George flag. Meanwhile, SPG would have to somehow get both the Maryland and Pennsylvania flags, similarly Virginia and Kentucky for CRR, Hesse and NRW for RSN etc etc etc. That's opening a great big can of worms.
I am not bothered about the flag. This started because some idiot thought it was funny to go on about Needles glinting in the evening sunshine and the consumption of large amounts of Buckfast.
Erm! No it didn’t. It started because someone emphatically declared DTG should use the Saltire instead of the Union Jack on the forthcoming Glasgow Cathcart dlc. Since the Union Jack has been correctly used for all UK routes up until now that inflammatory statement was bang out of order.
Nobody said it was me but someone insulting Scottish people wasn’t how this started about which flag should be used but was in fact someone making an earlier inflammatory and inaccurate ( Because Scotland is part of the UK whether Scottish nationalists like it or not ) )statement about the Saltier being used on the Glasgow Cathcart dlc instead of the Union Jack. Read back through the thread.
France invade? Behave. A granny waving a handbag at them would get the French to surrender! If you think we are such a terrible nation then get yourself to the nearst airport and get yourself out of it. I'm a proud Brit who is very much looking forward to our future outside the EU. In a few years time it will be as clear as day what a good decision leaving was. The EU is a corrupt sinking ship. Britain is sailing away into the sunset towards a very bright future.
The only place I’m leaving is this thread. I’ve poked my stick in too deep and disturbed one too many nests, of which I am truly sorry. Back to trains for me from now on. British trains, German trains, French and Swiss trains, and trains from the US and Canada, all together in one place, and happy to be so. That’s better.
After reading this thread I feel like I stumbled upon the "DTG should change the flag of Cathcart Circle to the Scottish National Flag" TBH, I had quite a laugh. Is Scotland about to declare war against England for still being stuck with the U.K and will Scotland declare war and break into DTG's office for putting the Union Jack instead of the Scottish Flag? I really don't understand the issue. The way I see it is Scotland whilst yes being a country, is part of the United Kingdom so therefore unless Scotland officially separates from the U.K, the Union Jack seems more than appropriate. If people are gonna argue that the Scottish Flag should be put since Scotland is a country (even though it's part of the United Kingdom) then hell perhaps DTG should just put the New York State Flag for Long Island Railroad since it's in the State Of New York. Perhaps DTG should put the California State flag for Peninsula Corridor since that route is in the State Of California. Perhaps for the upcoming NEC route dtg should put the Massachusetts and Rhode Island State Flag since that route runs in the State of Massachusetts and the State of Rhode Island. Cane Creek should have the Utah State Flag. Sand Patch Grade should have the Maryland and Pennsylvania State flags and Clinchfield should have the Virgina and Ohio State Flags. All routes in England should have the Saint George Flag and don't even get me started with the German State flags for the German routes. Look having the Union Jack in Cathcart Circle really isn't a big deal since Scotland is part of the U.K. At the end of the day it's just a 2D Image that you will only see in the main menu. You'll be playing a small unknown scottish circle line with a train that no longer runs in Scotland anymore and presumably most of the 314s have been scrapped. People shouldn't make a big deal about a flag that you will only see in a menu.
WOODEN SPOON TIME...should French and German routes not have the European union flag. only joking dont really care abt a flag in a train sim game.
Pookiebarra shhweeet#4292 Turns out I misread the post. I thought it said "No I didn't" not "No it didn't" Apologies.
Day one purchase for me. Maybe I am bias as I'm Scottish though but if its a UK release, its usually a release day purchase for me.
I'll hold off for a sale until I pick this up that way I'll get more value for money and the bigger issues should have been dealt with by that point.
I have deleted a selection of political posts. If you want to discuss politics, the Train Sim World forums are not the place to do so. Please take those conversations elsewhere. As this thread has returned to the original topic I have left it open.
So glad this thread is back on track. PSN wallet topped up and one week to go Skipped the last DLC as saving pennies for cane creek and rush hour but this should be good and very much looking forward to it.
For those who are still on the fence about this route. I plan on doing a full comprehensive review of this review to be up on the forums (PlayStation section by 7am BST). I will be playing: The route tutorial The 314 tutorial 3/6 scenarios : Collector Extra time Divergent 1 loop of the Cathcart circle Newton to Glasglow neilston to Glasgow Shields depot. Is there anything else you want to see?
A photo of your red-rimmed eyes? Seriously, this will be very helpful, as I'm very much undecided, though I'm beginning to lean in favor.
Great Scotish route saved by Rivet games who did the scenery on it Gameplay as normal on a UK route is still rather Shallow it appears they make much more of an effort on the German ones
Love this route very interesting working, it is very dark on the platforms during the hours of darkness though, difficult to see stations when approaching.
1) *Scottish 2) Did rivet really "save" it though? We don't know how it would have went with just DTG do we? 3) A lot of effort clearly went into this, it's very life-like. 4) If you consider this a "shallow" route (200+ services, nearly the way it was irl in the era) I'd like to see what your standards are for shallow.
