    Introduction
The Borders Railway is a wonderful little rural line in Scotland.
The 35 Mile Line, coming out of Edinburgh Waverley, heads South into the Wonderful Borders region.
"Experience the wonderful Scottish Borders in all it's glory. Heading out of the historical Waverley station in Edinburgh, before splitting from the East Coast Mainline and becoming a one track line, the Borders Railway is a wonderful Modern route".

Honestly having traveled on this line a couple of years back it wasn't really that interesting. It's mostly single track with rolling hills between a few towns with nothing much going on. If it were the complete Waverley Route down to Carlisle either pre-closure or as a 'what-if' style route being reopened along its full length then sure it would be a bit more interesting (although it is around 100 miles which is probably too long for TSW). Edinburgh to Glasgow via Falkirk or Edinburgh to Dundee via Kirkcaldy are far better options in my opinion.

There aren't any plans to extend as far as Carlisle - or even to extend at all for that matter - so your going to be waiting a hell of a long time.

Another British diesel route set in Modern Times and for Class 170 DMU they're identical to the to the properties Diesel multiple unit for Brighton and East Coast way lines Class 171. If extended all the way to Carlisle pre closure then locomotives there can layer to the 1980s routes NTP 1983 & TVL 1989.
