Whatever could it be? The thread is hereby open for theorycrafting! Tune in to the stream on our official channels at: www.twitch.tv/dovetailgames.com www.mixer.com/trainsimworld
I'm hoping for an editor or 387, as it's nice to get more trains on gwe, and it's the most requested MU (even a meme).
I hope the editor, to bring a bit life into the boring, lifeless and empty Train Sim World. But I guess it won't be the editor just another Xbox DlC or whatever...
For me, a big TSW reveal should be either Multiplayer or the Editor Tools. A lot of people have been saying NEC releasing for Xbox. But hypeing up 'TSW The Big Reveal' just to say NEC is releasing for Xbox is not that impressive. For Xbox players it will be nice, but its not really a big thing for TSW as a whole.
Well they have posted the big reveal under pc and xbox......so if it is a DLC for xbox thats very bad posting techniques. Lets assume it is going to affect both platforms then it seems a DLC for GWE could be on the cards, the 387 or an extentsion or maybe both put into a DLC to add to GWE. Failing that it could be multiplayer as both platforms could take advantage of this? With the editor im not sure if the xbox would be able to pick up on the edited content or maybe im wrong? So alot of speculation I just hope it isnt something for the xbox specifically or that really isnt a big reveal.
We will not do for less than a scenario editor .... Alternatively, I also would be happy if DTG promises a huge improvement in its quality system and allows the fans to actually help in improving the products. (Martin, yopu can contact me for some excellent ideas that will increase DTGs profit and make the community feel much more involved).
I hope not......especially how since release GWE has been begging for an extension if they ignore that and go for NEC already ill be fuming.....and got a refund on that as it was very poor.
The Big Reveal: TSW is cancelled and stuff. More seriously, fixes for diesel locomotives? Pretty Please?
It would be nice to get a better timeframe on the physics reworks. And that is something that would change both PC and XBOX, so it's not completely insane to think physics will be involved. Oh dear....have fun with that train of thought.
Well on the last stream Matt was encouraging Xbox users to tune in so obviously there's going to be something for them. At present GWE is only thing PC & Xbox have in common which tends to point to some change/addition associated with that. I can only think of additional train types and/or route extension(s) with PIS as an outsider. If, as some have said, the NEC is shown then I suppose it could be the release of that but then why hype it in the PC section only to suffer the disappointment and wrath of PC users subsequently. IMHO we really need to see an editor of some description. For the time being I think some form of scenario editor and Steam workshop would placate people whilst the SDK and route editor(s) were being further developed.
It isn't completely insane, but I kinda don't see it as a "big reveal", to be honest. It's very nice to see the issues fixed, but I haven't ever seen a fix (and a partial one at that, as they only work on GWR locomotives for now) to be teased on a livestream with announcements 3 days prior to one. Maybe aerodynamics rework for KSP was like that, but that was a much more global change... Pun intended?
Oh, I had assumed this was for Xbox only! Will be awesome if you’ve got something for us PC players too
I would regard an editor/tool kit as a 'big' addition to TSW, anything else is small in comparison. Even a simple scenario editor along with a method of sharing scenarios would be a great addition. It will allow the community to create and share for the first time as well as unlocking hours of gameplay within the existing content.
DTG is so in tune with you that they did this a whole 2 months ago in preparation for this exact moment.
Will the stream by any chance also include TS18 news along with the TSW news? I think the NEC background is implying something NEC related but that won’t be the big news. My money is it will be the editor, but we’ll see.
Well judging by a lot of the other comments on this, I certainly won't be alone. Maybe it will be the change of TSW from TS2Prototype?
(Not sure if I can post this here so Mods remove if needed) I was looking through the code and found a reference in the WSR DLC of a new Unreal Engine asset BP_4F_Engine & BP_4F_Tender. While not an exact match to anything specific, I believe the 4F referenced (along with the tender reference) is similar to some of the steam engines used on the line. It could be content cut from the game for all I know; it is in the same spot though that referenced all the engines from the NEC DLC a month or so before that was announced, so I believe it could be a strong possibility that we'll be seeing a steam locomotive in the near future.
Isn't user created content very difficult to do on consoles? And since this was linked on the Xbox forum, as well... Or maybe it's just two completely separate reveals. We know that WSR is coming to Xbox (mentioned on stream) and that we were to hear more about that "soon".
Anybody who didn’t watch the WSR stream Matt did last week, he said there will be big announcements, which is plural for multiple announcements. So expect a few exciting things coming in the stream, not just one.
I am also hoping that it will be the editor, that is long due. This will be one thing that will change TSW for good.
I'm not sure, but what about the PIS system? It could be used on NEC, RT (and GWE) and also on PC as well as on Xbox
We have pictures of both NEC and RT, so it's probably not DLC-related. A map/scenario editor would be a welcome edition.
Whilst I do want ASI and it’s something that could be part of the announcements, it’s definitely not the “BIG” announcement, and again I believe that will be the editor. Another big announcement could also be more upcoming routes, we shall see soon enough! ASI= Automated Station Identification or most commonly referred to as “Automated Announcements”. Most people say ASI over PIS, but whatever.
So its certainly something that will effect all DLC. Interesting, like most people have said it could me ASI, along with an editor or multiplayer. And since the GWE photo is being kept until last I assume this is where the biggest change will be? So maybe ASI, editor and upcoming DLC for GWE......or multiplayer for GWE first, could be interesting
Hmm, I'm just hoping that with all the hype and build up that they are giving this that it all doesn't turn out to be a bit "meh", and saying "is that it?".
Although I want it to be the editor tools, I wouldn't be disappointed, infact I'd still be very happy if it was the PIS, providing it worked properly and bug free with sound announcements as well as displays - yeah I know, hoping for far too much there
To be honest I don't get the need for the wait until Friday 6pm UK time for the so called "Big Reveal" just announce it, maybe I am a bit long in the tooth for all this over hype nonsense.
I don't mind, it's just a little something to look forward to and it's not that long a wait, however, if the big announcement is something like a small route extension, I won't be overly impressed - I'm expecting some major update here!
Well theyre doing it to build up a big hype.....abit like alton towers to with a new ride but lets hope they can deliver.....bigger the hype the bigger the expectations
Just in case anyone got their hopes up... https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/live/articles/article/big-train-sim-world-announcement Unless there’s more to come, seriously unimpressed.
