With the Cathcart circle line being added i hope this is just the start of DTG making Scottish routes because I would love to see Glasgow - Edinburgh the Fife Circle etc so i just hope this is not just a one off Scottish route
Hopefully but my guess would be that DTG will monitor sales and feedback from Cathcart circle to assess the viability
Edinburgh to Dundee or Edinburgh to Glasgow would be my top contenders. Both would offer an interesting timetable with a variety of fast and stopper services and would include quite a few well known landmarks. North Clyde Line would also be interesting but is somewhat similar to Cathcart Circle being mostly metro-style suburban services. West Highland Line is very scenic but the timetable is quite sparse and isn't a route I drive very often from TS. The logical choice for this would be Fort William to Mallaig like the Thomson Interactive (now Rivet Games) version in TS. Fife Circle is essentially a branch of the Edinburgh to Dundee line and I'd rather see the full length to Dundee than the full Fife Circle.
Edinburgh Waverley to Dundee makes sense because train simulator world is missing a famous bridge that carries trains from the northern Scotland Aberdeen & Dundee to Edinburgh the Forth Railway Bridge. That is actually a sister game train simulator 21 route that means to be here
Would the Edinburgh - Glasgow be Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverly (Via Falkirk High or Falkirk Grahamston) or Glasgow Central to Edinburgh Waverly (Via Shotts or Carstairs)? Or even both would be amazing. And what trains would it have?
Definitely the Ayrshire line - Several services splitting from Kilwinning for Ayr, Largs, Ardrossan and the option to have Paisley Canal coming off too. Lots of potential routes, all can use a portion of the mainline, and really popular with Scottish families which would make it profitable for DTG. Gives the chance for longer routes, or more suburban routes making it appeal to a wider audience.
1. Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh via Falkirk High 2. Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh via Falkirk Grahamston 3. Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Shotts 4. Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Carstairs what else?
North Clyde Line: Helensburgh/Milngavie/Balloch - Springburn/Edinburgh, after Glasgow Queen Street (Low Level) the route slowly becomes less urban before travelling to Edinburgh.
Absolutely - About the time the Cathcart line is set, you had 334s running, 318s on Largs occasionally and the 380s coming into play also. If DTG done the 334/318, they could sell the 380 as a separate DLC - It'd sell well as people would buy it for both the Ayrshire line and cathcart as it can be used on both, making it more appealing. There was talk in the past streams about in the future looking to link routes together - I see no better option than a Ayrshire/CCL merge as the trains are mostly interchangeable.
I would like the E+G line with the Class 170s set before the electrification at Queen Street high level with more branches if DTG added the dunblane, dundee or alloa included
Fort William to Mallaig would be a good run for TSW bearing in mind the route length issue, as for Harry Potter viaduct must check the local Sectional Appendix, didnt realise that existed. Glenfinnan however....
Edinburgh-Dundee. The chance to drive a HST, 170 or 66 over the Forth and Tay bridges would be majestic.
