Not sure if it's just me but I've run a few of the early morning services between Shields Depot and Glasgow Central and it doesn't matter how quickly I change ends I can't get to Glasgow Central on time. Am I missing something or does the timetable need tweaking?
I think some of the timings are too close together, whereas as some are too far apart. I don’t know how true to life this is.
On a related note, the speed limit in the yard is only 5mph. This is agonizingly slow. Is it really that slow on the real railway?
Yes, this is normally the maximum permitted speed inside depots and sidings. Mainly because of the risk caused by people walking around and manual points.
