Does anyone know a workaround for this crash? Game works fine regardless but I want to use the Livery Editor, as soon as I create a skin and go to load it, the loading ring spins once, stops and then pops up that the D3D device has been lost

liquid cooled AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - default clocks
Gigabyte 8 gb AMD Vega 64 -default clocks
16 GB Corsair DDR 3200 ram
SK Hynix 1 tb nvme SSD

    I have tried everything, including
    Rolling back to driver 20.4.2
    Windowed mode in multiple resolutions
Disabling all overlays (Steam and AMD)
V sync off, v sync on
    Max FPS 60
command line arguments like -d3d12, d3d11, (DX12/d3d12creates a different crash error)
    Disable TDR
set graphics card to max -14 clock speed
Turn off AA, set all settings to LOW, disable/application settings on everything in Radeon Software

Im just at a total loss, cannot figure it out, game plays great regardless, with Vsync off and running 144 fps on my freesync monitor at Ultra settings

AFAIK Liveryeditor crashes when game is started with "-DX12"

^ Can confirm. I had this issue too when I started with -DX12. When opening the livery editor the game would crash, same as in the OP. After removing -DX12 from the advanced launch options, it works again.

As I stated, it doesnt matter if -DX12 is set or not. It has ZERO effect on the Livery Editor, it crashes either way

Seems you have already gone over a few basic check items, perhaps it would be worth doing a game file verification in steam.
another option would be to disable freesync at the driver level.

    Good luck.

I had this for a while and I cannot remember whether it was a TSW or Windows reset that cured it. Good luck

Keep in mind that AMD is the reason TSW also crashes
