Please bring to TSW2 an improved timetable mode. Similar to the Quick Drive in the TS, it would be cool if you can put trains together freely in an improved timetable mode. E.g. a BR 185 with double-decker car

Custom consist aren’t really anything to do with timetable mode . Custom consists would be good in scenario planner

Yes they are. Let me make my own consists and use them on any service.

Scenarios are too much hassle to set up AI traffic. TSW really lacks a Quick Drive-alike mode.

Not really. The services are set up for × amount of cars.
That's why substitution only really happens with trains the same number of cars.

It would likely be Scenario Planner or nothing.

I don't see a problem. Trains being longer than platforms happens in some routes timetable mode already, and scenario planner already features a system that enforces limits based upon consist length vs platform length.

I don't see why I can't run any passenger train on any passenger service, certainly not if the custom consist is the exact same amount of cars or shorter.

And even if I'd select a longer consist and run into problems, wouldn't it just be my own fault? Train Simulator offers this full flexibility in Quick Drive mode and on a few occasions I've ran into problems which I don't mind at all because that's the risk I took by creating my own consist on a route that's not designed for it.
