I think most of us can agree, that TSW starts to get boring after a little while. Operating a train isn't always fun and dandy, it can be stressful sometimes, it can be exciting. TSW doesn't capture this in the game. I think they need to add some dynamic events to the game. It could be an option you can turn on/off in the main menu. Things they can add: Passengers holding doors. Door failures. More bunched trains to allow for more yellow lights and delays. Track Work making trains go slow in certain zones/shuttle service. Different types of services (play as a guard/conductor). Add announcements that players can turn on (on certain trains). Signal Failures (they would have to rework the SPAD system for this). If you like this suggestion, please like this so DTG can see this is a popular suggestion.
I think these features should be added. It would add more immersion and realism to the game and make it more intresting
For more realism to UK in particular, I would also like to see a Track Maintenance machine also be added. So that into the timetable, the Tamper or such has to go out to the possession, and then you drive it back early in the morning. That would be great fun. You could also add the driver training services for more realism. Purely because this is normally what happens in the evenings. Especially on ECW.
I would like see Dynamic Train Dispatcher (Railway Controller) assign static units/train sets/loco/carriages/wagons to services/diagrams, be Railway Controller, remove/add wagons/carriages, swap loco/unit/trainset. Platform altfromtion because no driver, Dynamic number of drivers, able to set number of drivers on duty, could split drivers into depot driver and mainline drivers/ branch line drivers, set certain rolling stock withdrawn/serviceable/not ready/ready. services on demand (moving empty stock from depot to depot/sliding) etc Bakerloo Line Train 251 for changeover purposes.
I always wanted to do cold start from a depot on a loco/train, bring it into service, take it out of service and then shutdown the train completely. Especially on Köln -Aachen. That route still feels dead even with MSB preserved collection installed.
I am hoping that when the Class 101 comes to SKA, that Köln yard will be able to be used. It is really depressing to see it so empty. Being able to move around the yard and prep your train ready for service would be great.
Agreed. The most important part of a train drivers job today is not only to drive a train (the train does that on it's own) but deal with system failures. That's why we need "fault-gameplay". It'd be a great addition to the game and would not only make it more interesting but also more realistic.
Especially on the mta! Didn’t they install spikes on the doors to stop people from holding them because it became such a problem?
Hopefully in rush hour we may get more experience of a varied journey by having traffic in the area and more red lights to deal with
I've seen it in an article as a Railfan Concept, but it was never implemented or tested by the MTA, I'm pretty sure it would've caused a few lawsuits for the city and the transit system if it actually was implemented.
I honestly thought when rush hour was announced, that it would include dynamic/randomized events. If anything requires a level of disruption and unpredictability, then it must be rush hour! It would revolutionise the game for me. I want to be able to play the same service multiple times, but there to be variety. I want to be forced to concentrate more, rather than taking for granted that a service will run with the exact same signals each every time. The actual event causing a delay/problem/difference doesn't need to physically exist in the game for me. For example, I'd be happy for a pop up message to occur in the cab saying "cows reported on the line ahead", when contacting the signaller at a red light. The cows don't need to exist, but the red light and the message to add context is what would give me the variety and a greater gameplay experience. The option to enable/disable the dynamic events would of course be needed to suite the needs of different players.
I fully agree. I would love to see Dynamic Events in TSW 2: Rush Hour. It would definitely work well on a route like BML.
Really excellent idea and for one of the American rush-hour routes boston-providence this comes in handy at Mansfield to which you're held by an AI service to Foxborough Gillette Stadium which itself originated from Providence or Theodore Francis Green Airport Station. Since you also made 6th Avenue line Suggestion this comes in handy at 59th Street IRT West Side Line because the B&D trains merge onto the express track 6th Avenue towards 47th 50th Street Rockefeller Center via 7th ave 53rd St.
I agree, this would make the game alot more interesting as all we do right now is drive a train from point A to B, maybe stopping along the way at stations or freight yards, with mostly green signals ahead of you. Such a feature would be game-changing, so we might have to wait for TSW3 to come around before we get this due to the complexity of it.
