What would be your next scottish route after Cathcart circle release maybe a North clyde line Glasgow to Helensburgh Balloch west highland line
West Highland Line could be interesting if it simulated RETB (Radio Electronic Token Block signalling system) which would be a new type of signalling for TSW I believe. Might be a good route for Rivet since their predecessor (Thomson Interactive) made the TS version (which was actually really well done) and they may still have the reference material to work from.
I'm hoping that when steam locomotives come to TSW that they make a new version of "Western Lines of Scotland" - been enjoying driving Black Fives up and down it
Firstly, on the stream when the 314 was announced to be coming with route, Sam said that it was 2011 - the First Scotrail era. As for the 314 the relivery happened began in 2011.
Actually, all Sam said was that it was "not Abellio." We all assumed that therefore it had to be First Group. As it turns out, they are using just Scotrail branding with no TOC at all. Also, only one 314 was experimentally painted in blue in 2011.
"Not Abellio" in the context of era (which was the context) means before the franchise began. As for the 314, the 5 units which recieved the saltire recieved them at the same time - during refurbishment - so therefore no, it wasn't just one experimental.
I don't even know why we are debating the era - regardless if it's the (as said when the route was announced) time of 2011 or the time which I also think it could be - 2014 - the 385 (the reason we originally started this debate) doesn't fit regardless, even if it proves to be 2017. The 385 didn't see service until 2018.
I would 2nd that maybe do it two stages Glasgow queen to Helensburgh upper part 2 Helensburgh to Crianlarich maybe a bit more.
Then you'd probably need 2 or 3 more. I'd personally have it this way; North Clyde Line (Helensburgh, Balloch, Milngavie - Glasgow, Springburn & Airdrie) ft. Class 334, Class 318 & Class 156 Helensburgh Upper - Oban via Crianlarich Crianlarich - Fort William Fort William - Mallaig
i personally really hope that if there is to be another scottish route that it would be the fife circle line, as it would provide a nice mixture of fast, semi-fast and stopping services. my issue with cathcart is that it was great in the beginning, but (with the exception of one trip to/from neilston) it is an all stops line, and stopping every half a mile or so gets a bit boring after so long. it's the main reason i have switched back to east coastway and great western express, at least there's some variety there. so for me, i think fife circle would offer a significant amount of interesting options compared to other possible routes
