Steam are quoting next sale Steam Halloween Sale 2021 Oct 28, 2021 - Nov 1, 2021 Steam had a sale at the end of September in 2019 but not last year and doesn’t appear in this years list. Halloween, Black Friday and Christmas are the remaining steam sales this year. However DTG had a sale in July and September last year so they may do again. We will have to wait and see. I expect an AP sale very soon too.
Oh my god I hope so, my money is burning a hole in my Paypal account right now, also would really like a JT sale too.
Based on previous experience, I think there won't be an AP sale until August bank holiday. Happy to be wrong however!
Reef, unfortunately JT have very few sales and when they do it is normally only about 10 products. Last year the next sale they had after April was on the 16th October where they only put five old routes in the sale. After this they had a small Black Friday and Christmas sale. The best thing is to watch their weekly Streams on Twitch as they discount the route or/and loco they are previewing for about 5 days after the stream. Andy.Malcolm, as for Armstrong Powerhouse, last year they had a 40% off sale on July 17th-19th and again on August 29th-31st. Then a Christmas Sale from December 23rd-January 2nd. So hopefully they will do the same again this year.
I want the Western Mainlines extension bundle which is normally £39.99, I have seen it reduced before but was too slow and missed getting it, it may well have been around the Black Friday time, not really sure now tbh. Other than that it's just routes that are requirements for 3rd party stuff and I'm reluctant to get JT routes via Steam.
Regarding JT, yes, I wish they had more sales. Some of their things are a bit overpriced. They have a few good things, but some of the older stuff ought to be permanently reduced at this time. That said, you will get more content on the JT vrsions over the Steam versions. Fun fact, South Western Expressways WITHOUT Reading is still on Steam if you have it as a requirement for anything. I cannot vouch for whether it works correctly. That's just for general large-scale sales, I think. Companies have sales on their stuff all the time. There will be more sales.
Ooh I missed that one somehow. Intriguing, they normally tie them to holiday weekends. As I said, happy to be wrong on this
Fingers crossed for a JT sale soon. There's quite a few of their routes I want/need and I was impressed with their MML routes. As for AP, fingers crossed there too as I would like to pick up some more of their packs.
Steam, apparently offered a bigger discount for celebrating July 4th independence day on selected American routes and locomotives. I wasn’t informed until today and missed it!!! https://store.steampowered.com/publ...qvLob3g2k-39CzG7GhmZCA7V_87j3trEmsfNBj8-0S9gQ Prices have now reverted back to offical sale prices!!!
The Steam summer sale ends in an hours time at 6pm. The next Steam sale will be a short one October 28th - November 1st If you are still looking for Train Simulator and Train Sim world products, then DTG may follow up with there own sale on selected items.
Just Trains Midland Main Line: Sheffield-Derby & Midland Main Line: Derby-Nottingham-Leicester Extension are both reduced at the moment, not sure for how long, ideal for anyone looking to start their MML collection off. I'll Also mention the Scottish East Coast Main Line as this is also reduced, in fact it has been for ages so handy if you need it for a dependency (like I did) or you're just into your Scottish rail.
Good eye. I'll take a look. Already have SECML but it's also handy for UKTS, particularly scenarios by rosgar, who used it a lot. BTW, the LNER V2 is also on permadiscount now. https://www.justtrains.net/product/lner-v2-advanced
Cyclone not predicted but from the website. Upcoming Steam sale dates Steam Halloween Sale 2021 Oct 28, 2021 - Nov 1, 2021 Not confirmed Steam Autumn Sale 2021 Nov 24, 2021 - Nov 30, 2021 Not confirmed Steam Winter Sale 2021 Dec 21, 2021 - Jan 3, 2022 Not confirmed There may be some small sales, like the present encore sale but limited to 25 Train Simulator and 5 TSW2 items. Just really continuing past the original sale date. Items Steam feel could have sold better.
Should I purchase Granger Heartland I wonder given that I do like large freight trains and have other USA routes?
Late comment: just randomly looked in the trains section at JT and found some of them quietly on sale, too. Besides the perma-specials and Romantic Railroads, I found the Class 222 (see Midland Main Line) discounted. Also quietly promoted to sale status is the Class 20 package, which is different I believe than the one on Steam and has scenarios for a lot of older routes (this includes York Modern, which really need to be remade for the new freeware versions).
The Class 20 package on Steam is a DTG - ex Iron Horse House Product and unrelated to the Just Trains version
Correct. I was just pointing out that the JT one is presently discounted. I remembered the IHH model being related to the one on Steam and have hesitated in picking that one up because I have the JT one.
I would and did in the latest sale. It’s a fabulous route with wonderful scenery and is on offer 50% until 7pm tomorrow. Buy it!
The route is missing Whistle boards, I think one of the GP40-2 Scenerios is broken, and the SD70ACe looks awful with its horrible headlight flares.
I have the JT Class 20 Advanced and the AP Sound Pack and I also have the DTG version that came with the London Transport Heritage Pack in LT Maroon livery - the JT version is better
Two of the scenarios are not marked as completed despite all of the individual tasks in the F1 task summary screen being ticked, and no XP is awarded as a result
I see. I also have the LTHC but have not utilized that one yet. The JT one is now installed, however, and I did add the 60 and all routes owned except for Midland (just picked up, waiting for extensions to all have a decent sale to use my rewards) and Kyle (seven hour scenarios, whee). I did not install the 222 quite yet, it'll go in with Midland.
That still does not answer my question. I'm presuming it's not on Steam. It could still be on Steam and still be a DTG sale. But given I see no sales on Steam, I'll say it must be on their own site.
I presume you are not on the mailing list from Dovetail Games? At the bottom of the email it says "The Summer Sale will run exclusively on the Dovetail Games Store until 29th June!"
Thanks for the heads up on that sale, have just bagged the LNER B12, L&Y A class, GNR N2 Tank Loco + Additional pack, all for less than £16. Happy days & months of fun Cheers
Anyone know when Caledonia Works have a sale please? They had one last July and hope I haven’t missed it.
Any suggestions from Digital Traction's products? I'm a total newbie around steam engines, and tend to use JT's Western Mainlines the most, so I wouldn't mind getting a really HQ GWR, if DT is much better than Dovetail's steam locos.
DTG's and Digital Traction's steam engines are both relatively straight-forward to drive and generally well modelled. I slightly prefer the weathering and colouring on DT's models and they are a little are more consistent in quality, especially sounds. If you want to dip your toe into the world GWR steam locos I would recommend DTG's BR Castle Class. The controls aren't too complicated, it looks nice and sounds are good. If you want a DT product, try the BR 4MT Tank. It's one of their older models, but looks good, drives well and is very versatile. Victory Works makes more complicated models of GWR locos, which you might want to try once you've got used to simpler models.
I too can recommend the 4MT and just bought the 3F from DT and am waiting to purchase CaledonianWorks LNER Webb Coal Tank. Anyone recommend it and does anyone know when the next CWs sale begins? It seems I missed their recent flash sale for locos on July 13th-16th!!! Last year they had sales at the end of June, July for LNER and August. So if anyone can advise when their next sale begins, it will be gratefully received as all their sales are short lived and easily missed.
I predicted the AP sale by August 9 about two weeks ago. We will see how accurate this is. We will know in a week and a half.
Probably correct, but I like to guess about these things. And I think last year's was around that time. So we'll see. Can't clock it like Steam sales, though. I just sense August 30 would be too long (yes, I Googled that since I live in Canada).
Does anyone know why / please explain the "tie up" between Epic Games & DTG / TSW2, and why its being offered for free instead of £24.99???
It's a limited time promotion due to the fact that it's now available on a new game launcher, it will soon be the regular price again, also for now it has exclusivity (first look) at the new patch/update of TSW2. The two (Steam and Epic) DLC's are NOT and will never be interchangeable though.
I expect they will tie it into a UK holiday weekend, which is what they normally do IIRC. Someone did mention that they had an extra summer sale last year mind you (which I must have missed!)
