I'm running a uranium train in Cane Creek, and while passing many water stations along the route, I'm thinking that, in order to find all the collectibles along various routes, you either must walk the route, take an engine for a run in free play or stop your train every time you see a missing sign, flickering light, empty water bottle, etc. Why not have a pickup truck/maintenance vehicle DLC, that can be used on ALL routes? We would need to ask the dispatcher for track clearance when there's AI trains running, and to control remote power track switches. I know it's a lot to ask, but what do you think??

Really excellent idea and this can be sold as a bundle called Rail inspector vehicle pack.
UK Network Rail HST Class 313 and Class 150 Yellow Skins
Germany DB Netze ICE TD ICE-S DB BR182.5 comes in with test measurement wagons and DB BR111 Yellow Paint. The first two are equipped with ETCS ERTMS in addition to PZB LZB Sifa but different propulsion DB BR605 Diesel but ICE-S electric overhead contact system 15kv 16.7hz.

I'd love such a vehicle as I always use a class 66 when doing collectables to make it feel like I'm working on the track

I like this idea also, though I'd vote for an old-school handcar.
