Nottingham station split between the late 1960s and 1990s. A Class 47 sits on P6 with an express from London St. Pancras, and on P4, a class 105 with a service to Matlock. We then see the exact same but on opposite platforms with the HST and Class 156.

Locos: Class 47, Class 105, Class 43 "HST", Class 156 DMU
Route: Midland Mainline: Derby, Nottingham, Leicester.

A lineup of Amtrak Equipment, ranging from an old "Toaster" to the newest ACS-64, sit at Amtrak's Ivy City Yard in Washington DC. The AEM-7 is the oldest of the bunch, being built from the late 70's to the late 80's, replacing the unsuccessful GE E60's, these locomotives would last on the NEC till the 2010's, over 30 years of service, when the Siemens built ACS-64 were ordered to replace the aging AEM-7's, as well as the unreliable HHP-8 (Seen between the ACS-64 and AEM-7). The HHP-8's were ordered around the same time as the Acela Express Train Sets in the later parts of the 1990's. The AEM-7's would make their last run on the NEC in 2016. The HHP-8's were retired by 2014. The Acela Train Sets are due to be replaced by the newer Avelia Liberty Train Sets starting in 2021, with all of the Acela's scheduled to be pulled by 2022.

Route: Northeast Corridor: Washington DC - Baltimore
    Locomotives: Acela Express, Siemens ACS-64, Bombardier–Alstom HHP-8, EMD AEM-7

Sometime in the not too distant future, PRR 1361 has returned to operation and is making her first run over Horseshoe Curve for the first time in decades. Unfortunately, the hundreds of railfans that have gathered to see the historic occasion have had their view obstructed by an NS coal drag, as it overtakes the 1361 on another track.
    Route Used: Horseshoe Curve
Locomotives Used: PRR K4, GE ES44AC

Quick correction, the new Avelia Liberty trainsets won't enter active service until 2022. An issue came up during testing on the NEC. Something about the pantograph not tracking properly on the catenary.

A U36B (built from 1969-74, and now only found on a handful of shortlines) in Seaboard System colors pulls a local freight past the Silver Meteor led by a P42DC (built from 1993-01, still in active service today). However, the P42's days are numbered, as the first 2 of Amtrak's 75 unit order of new ALC-42s, have been delivered.

If this ever does happen in reality, I for one will have a chuckle at it now due to this post.

    Screenshot_Donner Pass Southern Pacific_38.74857--121.28921_06-58-36.jpg
A Southern Pacific GP9E and a C44-9W sit near the Roseville's shops sometime in 1994. The GP9s were delivered to the Southern Pacific around the mid to late 50's. Around 1970 most started getting rebuilt into GP9E's and R's to extend their lifetime. Even into the 90's, GP9's could still be seen on a Southern Pacific mainline, with some being assigned to the RVFRL and FRRVL (Roseville-Fresno Local) along side SD7's and SD9's. Around the same time, the Southern Pacific started to take deliveries of newer 6-axle locomotives from GE and EMD, in the form of C44-9W's, SD70M's and AC4400CW's. Even on the final day roster in 1996, a handful of GP9's were still active on the SP.

    Route: Donner Pass
    Locomotives: EMD GP9, GE C44-9W

I share the pain you feel, I had two of mine pulled a few years ago. And going to have another pulled in September for which I am not looking forward to.
