Is Hauptstrecke Hamburg-Lübeck any good? I bought Clinchfield when it was on sale and I love it but Im not sure about Haupt. If theres another sale coming next week maybe there will be something better?
I absolutely adore this route. Could do with better recreating the skyline upon arrival at Lübeck Hbf, but tbh that's literally my only complaint does the PC version's draw distance allow you to see the spires? Or are they just not included in the game?
It launched in really bad condition but apparantly a lot of these issues have been fixed so it might be ok now. What I did like was that the approaches to Hamburg and Lubeck had lots of commercial/residential variety which increased in depth the nearer you got, but what I wasn't so keen on was that you're trapped between walls & trees for long sections of the journey and what you do see in terms of scenery is largely flat landscapes with a few bits and pieces scattered here and there. Sure, it's a bit longer than the usual commuter stuff but sometimes bigger isn't always better and my personal feeling is that the older (shorter) preserved routes just seem to capture the diversity of landscapes throughout the entirety of the route a whole lot better than the new ones. My overall feeling is that HBL is easily the best German TSW2 route but not as good as any of the TSW2020 offerings.
The Wrong Dostos sucks and the 112 been recycled from the 143 with the wrong Headlight size, or that the Destination Boards are awful on the 112.
So TECHNICALLY they are supposed to sometime tomorrow morning, in actuality they should show up on the store page from midnight.
Going to pick up Cathcart and probably Hamburg. Thanks to the sales, I've spent $100 more on TSW in the past month than I did in the past year.
Yep - it certainly adds up! Once I've picked up Cathcart and Diesel Legends later today my July 2021 TSW spend will be over £100, all of it on discounted DLC which I wouldn't have purchased at RRP. That should keep me busy for a while!
This sale has taken me from wanting the game but not willing to spend £235 on all the stuff I wanted, to being quite satisfied with what I got for £160, overall after MS' cut, that's what? £115 in Dovetail's bank account that wouldn't have been there otherwise? Seems like both sides of this transaction ended up better off to me.
Didn’t expect Cathcart to be included at 40% discount. Actually cost me nothing as I had a gift card to redeem. Pleased with that. Also bought the Diesel Legends Pack which I also have on PC. Hopefully Isle of White Ryde to Shankin and SEHS: London St Pancras-Faversham routes will be discounted at Xmas or are they still coming in the current sale? Does anyone at DTG know? It’s been a very good sale so far, 6 routes and a loco pack. We haven’t had an xBox sale for a long time so this one is very much appreciated. Thank you DTG.
Yeah, the remaining ones I'm interested in are Tees Valley, Isle of Wight, and London-Faversham. I've got plenty to keep me occupied in the meantime though.
So far they have all been TSW2 items and they said the sale was on for the month of July so we may not see any more reductions. As the sale only started on the 13th we may see Isle of White Ryde to Shankin and SEHS: London St Pancras-Faversham in six days time. I am still looking for the TSW route, Canadian National Oakville Subdivision in an xBox sale, wouldn’t pay full price as I have it on my PC. This sale has certainly provided a lot to enjoy for a while and hope we don’t have to wait too long before another one arrives.
I can wait however long a sale on those takes, with everything I picked up so far. DTG have definitely picked themselves up a customer who will be coming back for more with this month.
Will there be a further sale on Tuesday? I doubt it. All TSW2 routes discounted apart from IoW and SEHS. Also Cane Creek only just released for a discount. As this sale was instigated by DTG, it would be nice to know why IoW and SEHS have not been included. What is the reason DTG?
Well, I hope it was successful for DTG, I certainly spent £60 which I wouldn’t have done without a sale. I’m sure they will be crunching the numbers to work out how successful it was. I have decided I won’t be playing the game till after the rush hour updates, so I have 4 new routes waiting to be played.
I was hoping for TVL and/or some locos for TVL, NTP and WSR in this month long sale. But glad they did such a sale at all.
I wasn't sold on Diesel Legends, as I can always play on other routes if I want to use those, but the 465 might have my interest. Anyone able to recommend it as a worthwhile addition to the London-Faversham route? Meanwhile, I'm not entirely in on Cane Creek, what's that experience like? When it comes to these US freight routes I enjoy Clinchfield, but have not been too enamoured with Sand Patch Grade. Although, there is one loco I enjoy which appears on all three, the SD40.
I wasn't entirely convinced either, but the healthy discount gave me the push I needed and to my surprise I've been playing it all week. I previously bought the Class 52 to use on WSR but it's been much more fun using the blue variant on the Great Western as I've been able to put it through its paces rather than crawl around at <25 mph. Worth buying at the current discount IMHO. I was surprised to see more discounts appearing just now - I thought we were done now July has finished. Once again I don't have any of them so that's another 3 chunks of DLC heading onto my SSD - keep 'em coming, DTG!
I think I may have photos of me with the Western Fusilier from a few years back. To be fair though, the Gronk was the main thing of interest to me, always loved that iconic design, but I expect there's more thematic stuff to do with it on TVL. Did they manage to iron out the bugs in the DLC which I keep seeing reports of? Like vanishing trains?
The Trophy Gamerscore for the Tutorial for the AC4400 didn’t work. I complete it for the second time without getting it
I agree that would be perfect. Only need IoW and CN Oakville now so very pleased especially with Cane Creek having 35% off. Certainly didn’t expect that, especially as the route released less than four weeks ago on July 8th. Hope to see IoW in a sale. But I would think Rivet would have to allow that, for it to happen.
The class 465 is a good addition to SEHS. It sounds amazing but what lets it down is the fact that the services are quite short with only a couple of longer runs.
The 465 to me is a great addition. The 375 I don't use so much because of using the 377 a lot on East Coastway. 465 sounds great, has a rheostatic brakes mode and I was sold on buying it from the 465 livestream.
I picked up cane creek today in the sale I was going to wait to get it till after rush hour where there was a bit of big gap between releases so I would have time to get into Hamburg and Cathcart more before rush hour but seen as it’s in sale and I intended to get it anyways I thought best to get it now and put time into before and after rush hour
If you're on a Series console, I'd probably advise leaving it until after Rush Hour to put time into it, rather than before.
It’s a shame these sales are not happening after the RH update (although anytime is good I suppose), as I am reluctant to drop cash on the Xbox platform without seeing how good the implementation of the aforementioned update is. If there are still serious issues (which I will not bore you with here) on XB I will have wasted my investment.
I hope not it is the only TSW2020 route I need to purchase. I am also waiting for IOW and hope that gets in a sale. Hopefully next week
